I want a truck. Bed length is more important to me than cab size. Iād prefer a regular cab and 8ā bed. Crew cab means Iād look at other options too.
Never had the Ranger to Alaska. The AlCan, Cassiar, Haul road, Inside Passage and trips to Tuk, Yellowknife, and Dawson are all great. I have been many times in my ā98 C2500 which I bought new in Anchorage. Telegraph Creek would be a stretch to me with any decent sized trailer.
Used CIPA / McKesh with blind spots for several thousand miles with neoprene seat belt covers on the strap. Bought the ClearView when they became available. Both of these allow great visibility. Iāve never seen any clip on I like. I hate them all, although many swear by them. Donāt have...
I love the P3 and still use it in my C2500. For the Ranger I bought the Ford branded Redarc. I prefer the P3, but wanted the Ford because it ties into the AEB.
I donāt qualify for social security, but I saved, and am okay with that. Make sure you have good insurance, or a lot of money to self insure because at one or often more times, you will need it.
1. Learn to live on a maximum of 80% of your net pay no matter how small that amount is.
2. Always save at least 10% because life will happen.
3. Always give at least 10% away. There are always good things you can do.
4. Never go in debt. Just flat out donāt borrow money. It cost too much...
I like looking at stuff. I donāt take my astronomy too seriously, but have been looking at stuff my whole life. I have a Skywatcher F/5 achromat, a Meade ETX RA 90, an Orion 10ā inteliscope, and a Celestron C14. This stuff is from the early mid 90ās except the Orion is from the 2000ās. I have a...
40ā 5th wheels, but not with the Ranger! My travel trailer is not large. I have towed a 7K dump trailer, but it does not have the windage of most travel trailers and has monster brakes that can stop the Ranger when needed. I also donāt tow it more than 60 miles or so.
My 2016 Corolla is empty when it says empty. My 1998 Chevy 2500 runs just fine on the wrong side of empty. My 2021 Ranger, I donāt know yet. When we take long trips towing, I carry 5 gallons in the back for the generator and just in case.
A 1995 Lance is not one of the newer lightweight models, nor is it one since Lance was sold. There are pros and cons to that, but the issues you listed were mostly supplier issues, not parts Lance built.
Iāve always wanted a bright yellow pickup like the ā70ās - 80ās color, but Iām sure it will never happen. My ā98 C2500 is green and my ā21 Ranger is white.
For small, light, non molded fiberglas - conventional styled trailers - Lance and Winnebago are very similar in construction, but The Winnie Micro Minnie series is cheaper and has fewer reported problems.
ORV / Arctic Fox are the best built conventional RV trailers, but are mostly too heavy...
They are nice, but we didnāt like the layouts, small fudges, narrow beds, small table etc. Iāve never seen any of the 6ā8ā wide trailers that work for me. The 7-7 1/2ā wide ones do work for me. You wouldnāt think 4ā would be a big deal, but it does a lot for livability.
Been RVing my whole life. Parents started with a used 13ā Scout in ā69 when I was 6. They were teachers; we traveled every summer. Have been over North America multiple times. Can buy any RV I want. Have had nice expensive Bigfoots and cheap Forest Rivers. Not perfect, but quality for the...
Mark I am still praying and will be until your mom is healed or we reach the end. Look how even in this sickness, your mom has helped pull this community around in such a positive way. I hope you and your family can continue to find good in the middle of such pain. Sounds like you are doing...
