  1. Truck bed cranes or truck bed winch with ramp?

Not home, so no pics, but I have an aluminum range that works well and goes in any 2ā€ receiver.
  2. Maximum towing capacity questions.

All those periodic comments about buy a full size if you want to tow are wrong. I have a C2500, and a Ranger. I bought the Ranger specifically for towing. It does a great job towing. Almost all of my Ranger miles are towing. I’ve pulled 2500 lbs many times without trailer brakes. Just pay...
  3. Why did you pick Ranger

I needed a new vehicle to tow a minimum of 7000lbs, and carry a minimum of 1800lbs. The cheapest vehicle rated to do that is a Ford Ranger.
  4. My turn - taillight

    Pic, but can’t see much.
  5. My turn - taillight

It’s been dark when I leave and come back. I’ll grab a phone pic when I can. The Blund spot and rear sensing still both work.
  6. My turn - taillight

Had a back in with the trailer of well past 90 degrees. Thought I could see the tongue well enough, but the storage box got the taillight lens. Caulked it for now since that’s what I had camping, and there is rain. I’ll work on replacement when I’m home from the trip.
  7. Are there any hitch receiver lochs that don't seize / fail?

PacLock Amp Proven Industries Fort Knox All expensive, all long lasting, all relatively theft deterrent.
  8. Anyone NOT use vehicle wifi hotspot?

We travel a lot, and use it all the time. We use our phones too, but they are not unlimited. Can do things on computer and tablets easier with it, and it sometimes has signal when phones don’t. Saves phone data for when truck is off. It was cheaper to have our phones and truck than 2 unlimited...
  9. Front Seat Headrests - Question

My rears were recalled and got the tilters. My fronts don’t tilt, but don’t move by themselves. They stay all the way down. The rears, along with the seat bottoms are stored. The backs of the rear seats are wrapped with a cheap black outdoor tablecloth to protect them from the stuff back there...
  10. Things I nerd out about

I absolutely HATE the panic / alarm on this truck. It goes off waaay to easily. I don’t have Forscan, but this might make me consider it.
  11. Rear Ride height a Design defect caught tooo late?

I hate the bed height on all new trucks. I much prefer my ā€˜98 C2500 with an 8’ bed. I’m 5’8ā€ and loading newer trucks is impractical to me. I also hate no midsize truck offers an 8’ bed. I bought the Ranger because it was the cheapest vehicle to do what I needed. It’s been a good truck so far...
  12. 25 years wasted.

I think Trigganometry said it well. I wish you the best in creating a new future.
  13. Tow Mode Engine Breaking RPM's

I have a 4620lbs trailer (weighed) and see 4000 once in a while. Typically closer to 3500. This is in Tow/Haul.
  14. Locker discussion

I don’t want or need a 4x4, but I have the elocker. It’s handy in all kinds of situations in low traction. It’s enough for my needs. I don’t need 4wd, but do need the locker, and in farm country, we all drive off road.
  15. Hood alignment

This is timely. Just noticed my DS is off.
  16. Oklahoma - where the wind comes sweepin down the ..

I like the Ouchitas, I don’t live close, but the FS roads I have driven were all fine in 2wd.
  17. Mexican Train

We just have a set of double 12’s and some pennies. No fancy accessories. Sometimes we start with a full set at 12. Other times 9 or 6 depending on how long we want to play. I like Monopoly, but train is so non thinking, that you can chat while playing. There is some, but not much strategy.
  18. What is something you love, and something you dislike about the Ranger?

The only thing I really hate is no built in pockets to support 48ā€ wide panels, and no 8’ bed option.
  19. Towing up a long steep grade

When towing, which is most of the time, I use premium. The rest of the time regular, but almost always top tier fuel. I do agree the computer does a great job on the downhills. so I end up not touching the shifter. I really wondered about that at first.
  20. Towing up a long steep grade

I run a scanguage with cylinder head temp, water temp, voltage, and trans temp. Nothing has ever gotten close to hot.
