I've been on parts of it at various times, but not the whole thing.
We've only used the our bed tent once, and already the wife is sending me links to overland bed racks and roof top tents.
If we get that stuff, then I am sure we'll take a few days in early summer and do it end to end.
I bought a BMW 5 series that was an exec car. Had about 12k miles on it when I got it.
In my case, it was never titled, so factory warranty started when I got it. It was a great, trouble free car.
are you saying this $46 part is what the OP was quoted $600 to replace?
I have a warranty, but if it's accessible and on top, I'd probably just do it myself for $46.
I think this one was something like $100 as a "like new" open box on Amazon.
We figured if it's a dud, we didn't lose much. So far, so good.
The companion tent that goes with it (SUV tent it's called), was quite a bit more.
I'm just getting into camping up there. Lake Conasauga is a favorite (highest lake in GA, spring fed, cooler in summer there than everywhere else). Went by DeSoto Falls yesterday. Nice enough, with nice picnic and fishing areas in the creek adjacent to it. trails to 2 falls nearby. I found...
we've only spent one night in it so far, in great weather. was good for that. easy to set up and take down.
we got an air mattress that inflates in about 10 seconds, and put a memory foam thing on top of that, so it's comfy. Also have the accompanying SUV tent to add a room, but haven't used...
Had the chance to get out today to the National Forest. For those in the area, I drove Nimblewill Gap (FS 28-1), Winding Stair Gap (FS 77), and Coopers Gap (FS 42).
Here's a few pics. Was cold up there. The one pic on the rock wall is all icycles. Not sure if you can see it or not in the...
we have a truck tent that we just got, and one of those add-a-room things to put a small table and chairs if we want to get inside.
we are trying this out for the first time this week. I would like to go the trailer route, but having a hard time getting much traction on that at the moment...
I didn't want the spare to be 2 inches shorter than the regular tires. Plus, we are considering camper options, so I wanted the spare to be LT as well.
Good news is that the tire was $51 cheaper in 17 inch than 18 inch. It may be an AT2, I don't remember to be honest. But it's an LT Cooper...
Got the tires installed today - thank you guys very much.
They ride really well - don't feel heavy like I was afraid that they might. Only glitch was I have 18 inch wheels, but a 17 inch spare. I had ordered 5 of the 18 inch tires. The local store was able to swap out the same tire in a size...
Geez, so the camper can be like 800 lbs. Can't believe there is much available under 1k lbs.
The wife is sorta set on the bed camper. Had I known that, I would've gotten a full size.
Looking online at specs, I see bed capacity of 1560. Looking at the door sticker, I see crew and cargo capacity of 1406.
I was looking at a bed camper that weights 1150-1300, depending on which source I believe. Add propane and a battery, and that's another 80 lbs.
I was thinking that would...
Let us know what you think of it.
It works well for my part of the world, as most of my offroading is in the National Forests. I have been able to find some waterfalls and fishing spots with it.
USFS Visitor Map.
They've had it awhile, but it lost the ability to do offline map downloads.
With this update, you can now do that. I don't know about apple version.
I wasn't sure where to post this exactly, but the USFS has fixed their Visitor Map app for the Android. You can now download version 1.2.6, which will allow you to download offline maps for use when you don't have cell service.
They have road conditions, road types, rec areas, some camping...
