Probably a few hundred miles or so. Enough so you get a feel for how it performs stock and you can then decide what you would want in a tune. I personally use tow haul all the time because I like how it drives. But even in normal Drive it shifts great.
No advice on a tune as I am stock. But I do have a new updated transmission (07/24) and it’s incredibly smooth even in cold weather. If they do replace yours with a new transmission I suggest putting some miles on it before doing a tune. If you want some extra power then get a tune but if your...
It will be interesting to see what they find. Another gut feeling guess would be the outer shell grooved up. But who knows. I hope they just move you into a new transmission.
My 2022 Ranger had the transmission replaced at 18000. I thought it was ok and just quirky. Had a good dealer who listened to me about the quirky shifts and dealt with it properly. New transmission performs better than when truck was new. Get a Ford ESP plan if you’re keeping it.
Glad they’re covering it for you. Can’t wait to see what the failure was. The 2023’s are supposed to have the updated CDF drum so doubting that it’s that. My guess is valve body or trash can.
So we live on a cul de sac. The city uses the least seniority employee to plow it with a pickup with just a front blade. They always start across the street from our house and push everything around to in front of our house and then try to push it up over the curb onto the sidewalk. So we...
I also made it part of my pre flight which consisted of turn ass off and tow haul mode on. Until I found out that tow haul does both. But I still instinctively do both.
FWIW. My 2022 with the updated new transmission in 07/24 and around 8000 miles does not have the cold weather shift issues that the original transmission had. Multiple below zero F drives.
Glad that warranty covered it. But water in the spark plugs does not equate to scored cylinder walls. So maybe two separate issues?? Any way you could post the repair order that describes what they did?
