Tire size does not really mean better offroad. Look at all the stock vehicles out there that are relatively capable on a trail. A good tire would be the best option in my opinion.
Our trucks suffer from short control arms. A lift of any magnitude amplifies that issue. A long travel kit...
The last f150 I liked was the 08. After that they got too big. Notice the similarities between the front end of the 08 and our rangers? That was the selling point to me. I would just get a 1 ton if I wanted more truck. Why go half way with a bloated f150.
Honestly that temp range is old school thinking. ULV needs to be in the 190-200 range to have the proper viscosity to keep your transmission happy. That is why the cooling loop actually heats the fluid up as well.
It took me time to adjust to this as well. My old f150 would rarely break...
Good reason to get a parking curb in there. Back into it and zero eye balling or thought involves. If you garage is perfectly level (slight angle for drainage) and the pawl wasn’t fully engaged, I can see this happening.
75-90k is the magic number. I have another 50k or so before I have to go steal a 7 speed bronco for parts. Ill give it back with in automatic in a few months.
