Worse fuel economy.
2 turbos to fail
More cylinders to maintain
Tighter clearances under hood to work on it
Harder on transmission maybe?
Slightly heavier/less payload
Intake plumbing on the 2.7 looks like a puzzle
But its faster!
I tried taking a picture, zero justice is done. Heck I cannot really tell in person. If I wanted bigger tires I would have gone the 1.2 option honestly. I could tell hopping in the first time. And the rare time I park next to another ranger.
No, just sat on the floor. Not my first go at doing these on Fords. Nothing crazy really. Popped off the end links, CV nut, and outer tire rods, because I replaced them.
Mine was $6200 out the door. Called ford they covered $4000 or so. I was not happy with the rest but it was tuned and modified. Technician called me and asked me to remove the tune. Never made note of it. He was an actual car guy, not a mechanic. We got along well. Give em a call and call...
Felt furniture pads are amazing. If there is any rubbing inside you can pop one on there. Old school trick when there was more metal in interiors. Heck still worked on my wifes Explorer. Sunroof squeak the internet couldn’t figure out. Boom felt pad.
Intercooler charge pipe will never break. The boots might, and if they do aftermarket silicone boots and clamps are all over the world. The ranger only push on pipes were have will be hard to find in 5 years.
You really have the golden unicorns down there. Not only do you have oil burners and manuals, you have good automatics too? Ford the American company hates us anymore, and loves you guys. Even had the Barra. If I were to move strictly for vehicle choice, I know where it would be.
Typically in front of the radiator behind the grill or bumper. Ford has been putting them there for 30 years. No idea for our truck. Haven’t torn that deep into this one just yet.
Ford just hoped their long interval got the truck out of warranty and kept the cost of ownership down. Too bad now they have to account for a replacement transmission every 75k
Same wheels in both photos. Clearly look the same. I didn’t put 46s on because they looked badass. I clearly needed another foot of ground clearance…. Big tires on a daily driver are typically for looks. 32 to a 33 is so minor on the trail it’s laughable. Extra width is more important.
