You can drive without it?
I think you can drive without the front drive shaft (not certain) You can’t put it into 4-wheel drive, but you can’t do that anyway.
I'm pretty sure you can lock the door with the key in the ignition and the engine running.
Would this be a viable alternative to another key?

I don't think you will have any issues with 35 cold / 38 warm. It shouldn't wear out the tire or lower gas mileage. When it turns really cold, you might bump it up some. I drove 380 miles with 38 psi cold and turned around and drove 380 miles back with 34 cold and my mileage actually came up 1...
In the morning, when your tires are cold, check them. If they are still 40, then lower them to the pressure stated on the door sill. My tires are 265/65-R17 and the door sill plate says 38 psi cold, but I have found that 35 psi to be a better setting for me. Driving in 104+ temps on the...
I owned a 2018 Ford Explorer with a 2.3 ecoboost. On Ford's website it stated the HP/TQ numbers as 270/310 "when used with 93 octane fuel." I used high octane and a K&N replacement air filter. The explorer ran much better, although I don't have any scientific evidence of this.
When I got the...
Okay. I tried a different pew-pew with a scope. Definitely will NOT fit.
Someone mentioned a lever-pew. I tried this one, which is relatively small, but the seatback wouldn't close. Springs in the seat press against the pew-pew keeping it from latching securely. It could probably be adjusted...
Well, then I have them on backwards. My other ARs have optics without backups or it’s part of the gas block and handle. You never know what you will learn on the Ranger forums!
The sights are mounted correctly.
Its a cheap pew-pew with cheap sights and cheap lower. Mostly built with left-over, clearance, gifted parts. It is usually stored in a vacuum sealed bag requiring the sights to be down. This pew-pew is more of the store, then use, not a spring into battle weapon.
I'm thinking along those same lines. It should work well with a lever gun. A regular AR might be problematic because of the forward assist and shell deflector, but this one has neither.
I am imagining another use for these mounting points. Here is a quick mock-up with zip-ties. So far, the only issue is when I close the backseat, the front sight pops up.
Edit: Lowered the front a bit and that keeps the pop-up sight from "popping" up.
You are probably correct. I usually see them near the bottom of the back of the backseat, but I can see how this is what they are used for. My kid is 4 years old and uses the booster seat now that doesn't make use of the latch hooks.
The Ranger is a heavy truck. When I was shopping for mine, I compared the weight to an equivalent F150 and the full sized truck was just 400 pounds more.
I think you can see the bracket in this picture. It is flush, so I wouldn't say that it sticks out, but you can see it, whereas the other two are completely hidden.
