Did you know that the owners manual says what fuel to use? Here is a cut-n-paste from the manual: (most of the highlighting is mine)
Some fuel stations, particularly those in high altitude areas, offer fuels posted as regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating below 87. The use of these...
I noticed that some suspension kit manufacturers are putting disclaimers that say their products are only compatible with Rangers that have aluminum knuckles. So the design is probably different. You probably can’t even swap the steel/iron version to the previous aluminum design.
My concern would be where that bolt/nut goes through. The other rust is superficial and that part is thick, so it would be a long time before it becomes a concern. I would have them remove and inspect that nut. If the corrosion goes into the threads it will get bad quickly.
In the first photograph there is a nut visible that is surrounded by rust. The nut and the cast iron are different kinds of metals. It is also recessed in such a way that moisture will stick in there. That is going to be a problem.
This is a quote from the Ford website about the Tremor package.
“Tremor starts with a lifted suspension, redesigned front knuckles and 32-inch Continental General Grabber™ A/TX all-terrain tires on new 17-inch Magnetic-painted wheels that combine to deliver 9.7 inches of ground clearance – 0.8...
Yes. I would be concerned. That looks like it’s made from cast iron and there is a nut/bolt going through there that is filled with rust; so corrosion between dissimilar metals is happening. This isn’t even a part that should be iron. Mine is aluminum. Maybe yours was wrecked and they replaced...
I really believe that the stock tune, high octane and the K&N filter will improve power output. If you put it in sport mode and disable advance trac, you will really feel it.
But I have an update. I installed the most recent FPP update for their tune. It is supposed to address an issue related...
This is truth.
I chose Bilstein, primarily because they were on sale, but it is likely that any of the brands mentioned above will feel like an improvement to the FX4 branded shocks.
They have this shock.

But the back wiggles because you went over an uneven bump. This is because the Ranger has a solid rear axle. What you are asking for is a Honda Ridgeline.
It shouldn't matter, but the Bilstein website FAQ says the sticker should be right side up. So your mechanic did it right.

"You always want to install our application specific B6 4600 and B8 5100 shocks so the Bilstein labeled on the shock body is reading...
The rear shock absorbers are not load bearing. This is great, because it makes them very easy to install, but also it will not change any of the load specifications of the truck. As for the ride quality while towing; you should see the same improvement as when the truck doesn't have a load...
It has proof marks from Belgium and Italy. I believe that Richard Basehart acquired it when he was living in Italy, so 1958-1960. It doesn't say FN on it, but I might have to remove the stock to find that. I'm not sure.
Somewhere I read a warning that said to only use tape type weights for wheel balancing because of clearance issues. I looked at my wheel and tire placard but I didn't see the warning, so I'm not sure where I saw that. Maybe it is written on the inside of the rim? My factory wheels have the...
