I bought the front and rear as a kit from Stage3, but the fronts are out of stock and should ship later this month. I told them to go ahead and send me the rears. I put them in on Saturday. They are much better than the stock FX4 shocks. In fact Iām kind of mad that Ford touts those things as...
I have never heard of a leveling kit actually improving handling on its own. Usually the improvement in handling is a result of improved shock absorbers, which might be a part of some leveling kits. Unfortunately the shocks that come with the FX4 package are not very good. If you replace them...
Tire pressure for the FX4 is 38 psi (its on a label in the door jamb). I have an FX4 and run it with 34 psi cold for comfort and only bump it up to 38 if I have a load. I keep a Dewalt 20V battery operated air compressor in the truck and don't worry about searching for a gas station with a...
Check your tire pressure. Just use the tire pressure readings available in the dashboard. Even if you don't have a tire that is low enough to trigger the tire pressure warning light, if your tire pressure is different enough on one side compared to the other, then some features like...
I think they are talking about the front, where there is a sway bar and a bump stop. The bump stop is just hidden under the coil at the top of the mount. There are some shocks that have internal bump stops, but I donāt think that is the case with the Ford Ranger.
Hydraulic Bump Stops?
In an Autoblog article on the Tremor it says, " The anti-roll bars are less stiff, and hydraulic bump stops have been fitted."
I cannot find any reference to the use of different anti-roll bars or hydraulic bump stops in any of the Ford marketing. Is this true?
I can understand that. I'll track the costs and see if it is really that expensive. I'll include hours of labor involved and you can decide if its a DYI thing or a professional job. Keep in mind that I have a 2020 truck and I'm not interested in trading it now and performing my own labor to...
So I think I can do this at a pretty affordable price. Here is where I'm starting.
ā = Already part of the FX4 package or I already have it.
Tremor Package ā Enhanced Performance Features
ā Off-road tuned suspension
ā FOX 2.0 monotube dampers with rear piggyback reservoirs
ā Rear multi-leaf...
So the oil for this turbocharged Ranger is a Synthetic Blend. Which is fine, except there are no standards for what constitutes a "blend." So a company can take one drop of a synthetic motor oil and put it into a bottle of conventional oil and it is a "Synthetic Blend." I understand that the...
I changed my own oil at 1000 miles and again at 5000 miles. The 4000 mile interval was too long. The oil was very dirty and it is thin stuff to begin with. I'll probably go back to 3000 mile intervals, like in the olden days. Be sure to use a 15 mm wrench and not a 12 point socket to remove the...
A follow up.
I hung the rifle behind the seat with some cheap nylon rope (87 cents on clearance at Harbor Freight). As for the rifle, I changed the barrel and the hand guard. I did flip the rear sight around, but left the front sight on backwards.
it stays put.

Cable is routed above roof liner, down the A-pillar, beside the dash, under the back of the glovebox, along the console to the cigarette lighter plug. Cable is mostly hidden...
The Quick Fist Weapons Clamp did not do the trick. Not that it isn't a good product for use in an ATV, or something similar, it just wouldn't go behind the seat. The good news is I've been using the zip-ties for more than a month and its doing alright. The rifle doesn't come loose and I don't...
