  1. Looking to get a bed rack for my 21 XLT Tremor

I've got the Yakima setup (Outpost rack) and like it. It is easy to remove (leaving only the small, flat base plates) when you need to haul large items. I mount my RTT, ski/board rack and bike racks to the bed rack. All are Yakima.
  2. Opinions on towing 6x12 enclosed trailer for snowmobile transport in winter

I have the Ford version of the RedArc. I use it with my TT. The GVWR of enclosed trailers I'm looking into do not warrant trailer brakes (3000 lbs GVWR). In reality, I'm unlikely to load more than 2,000 lbs.
  3. Opinions on towing 6x12 enclosed trailer for snowmobile transport in winter

Nice looking trailer there. Does it have trailer brakes?
  4. Opinions on towing 6x12 enclosed trailer for snowmobile transport in winter

The open, flat ones are kind of cheap, but all worn out to shit where I live. The same ones are cheap new, but I don't want an open trailer. The covered, dedicated snowmobiles ones are ridiculously priced used here, same with generic enclosed cargo trailers. For some reason people think their...
  5. How often do you use 4L?

Maybe 4-5 times in four years. Occasionally when off-road, but more to back the TT up a steep slope slowly a couple of times.
  6. Opinions on towing 6x12 enclosed trailer for snowmobile transport in winter

Thanks Jamie. Are you okay with the standard summer (all-season) tires on your trailer, with snow tires on the truck? Do you ever need to chain up the trailer? Does the trailer ever slide and want to pull the truck with it? Your load is about 2/3 what mine will be, but similar driving...
  7. Opinions on towing 6x12 enclosed trailer for snowmobile transport in winter

Hi all- Background on my towing experience and my Ranger: I frequently tow a 5,000 lbs. travel trailer, with WDH and trailer brakes. No issues, very confident, but I will not town in winter conditions. Dozens of trips with a U-Haul 5x8 cargo trailer, near max load of 3,000 lbs. No WDH nor...
  8. How to disable rear seat warning when vehicle shutdown!

My '21 Lariat can be disabled exactly like this. I have the Nav Sync, if that makes a difference. EDIT: I was curious and tried it on my truck: * If the truck is in full accessory mode (engine not running), you can access the vehicle settings. * if the truck is only powering the sync head unit...
  9. SSM 49264 - Climate Control Temperature Will Not Adjust With Clicking/Snapping Noise From The Dash

Not true. My 2021 was affected. Earlier Rangers were nearly 100% likely to be affected, later one are hit or miss. My dealer service guy said they actually do this repair across all models, not just Rangers. FWIW, the service techs (at least at my dealership) seem good at this HVAC replacement...
  10. Start/Stop Eliminator Install the Quick Way

    I installed a start-stop eliminator in my wife's car also ;)
  11. 4 Years Today

OEM wiper blades did last a while for me. I am on the second set, but they are still in great shape. 3 years 9 months of ownership here. Also on the original battery.
  12. Falken Wildpeak AT4W vs Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail

Update after a summer. Nothing new to add other than a wear report. I am very happy with the performance and look of the Coopers. Regarding wear. 5,500 miles over the summer (May-Oct). 2,000 of those miles were towing a 5,000 lbs travel trailer. Tires are at 10/32-11/32. New is listed at 12/32...
  13. Start/Stop Eliminator Install the Quick Way

I did it this way also, pretty quick install. A few scratches on my hand trying to get the cable harness off and on again, but otherwise went well. Some people want a more OEM solution, but having something draw power from the outlet will disable the AS/S.
  14. Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Is TOO SHORT

Yup, would not be a concern for me, just explaining how an earlier poster came up with 12 connections.
  15. Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Is TOO SHORT

12 new wire connections, 12 possible points of failure. Each wire has the spade connector and two wire crimps to each end of the spade connector. I suspect that is what ljames means.
  16. Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Is TOO SHORT

Solder with shrink tube here also. Those Ford under dash wires were pretty short!
  17. One piece driveshaft for 2WD?

Can't you go with the Tom Woods that is popular here? I don't think the driveshaft is 2WD/4WD dependent?
  18. Towing with the 2019-2023 Ranger

I get wind blown with my 20' trailer (5,000 lb GVWR) and properly setup WDH on my Ranger. The wind just moves the truck and trailer as one unit thanks to the WDH :) My Ranger's upgraded suspension and higher load rated tires have helped a lot. I am comfy towing this amount of trailer part time...
  19. Hankook Tires

The Continentals are a great option for mostly on road. They have great wet performance.
  20. The last straw?

My 2021 is almost 4 years old (Dec 2020 build date), 44,000 miles. I love this truck now that all the below was taken care of. Mine shifts great (please don't jinx me). I had one warranty issue (the HVAC blend door) that my extended warranty took care of. It is ridiculous that this type of...
