  1. How long did your OEM battery last on your 2019 XLT?

Had no idea the Lariat had a larger battery. Anyone know why? Is it just better because the truck trim costs more, or is there an electrical reason for it? 18-24 months in AZ Phx heat seems about right. I used to live in S Florida when young. Batteries don't last long there either. Now I am in...
  2. Archers Firebreak Trail, 2021 Ranger Tremor, Stock

The looks narrow. Did you pick up any new pin-striping?
  3. Cleaning out mulch

This is why I use/rent a cheap trailer to haul yard debris, wood, etc. For $20 at U-haul I avoid dealing with cleaning the truck.
  4. Hope no one is using this oil

Agree. Used Amazon Basic oil in our previous Subaru for several oil changes. Buy it on Prime Day for the year.
  5. Hope no one is using this oil

FWIW, our trucks use 5w30 not 0w20 :)
  6. Castrol GTX Full Synthetic vs Edge

Just put this in my wife's Crosstrek last week. Agree that the price point is good. I don't bother with oil changes on the Ranger due to the stupid filter location. I do everything else on this and other vehicles.
  7. Tow Mode Engine Breaking RPM's

Mine will rev up to something like that when engine braking. When I manually shift to engine brake (in S mode), I tend to stay below about 4,000 rpms.
  8. Lariat - Factory LED Headlights - Reliability

+1 no issues at 22k miles and almost two years. Best headlights out of all my family's vehicles.
  9. Mountain bike tailgate cover/pad

Review of the Specialized website shows that bike is likely a s-works turbo kenevo sl. Wheelbase is 1228mm on the smallest frame. Seems like a pretty standard wheelbase these days. I've never tried to carry my bike diagonally like this. My Santa Cruz 5010 has a wheelbase of 1191mm. It is a...
  10. Ranger Gets Ford Performance Parts Leveling Kits with Coil-overs & Fox Shocks

I have Fox rears and will do the Fox fronts at some time. I ride on gravel/dirt forest roads a lot. If budget or time is an issue, immediately replace the rears to solve 80% of the bounce. Then do the fronts later, if at all. If I only did street driving, I'd go with Bilsteins (stiffer then...
  11. In bed snowboard rack

You'll want to dry the bags out. Long term moisture contact with the board will rust the edges.
  12. In bed snowboard rack

Assuming you don't want a bed rack? Otherwise any kind of bed rack with crossbars would allow any of the available snowboard racks to mount over the bed
  13. Locker discussion

+1 for high probability of a 4 Auto, similar to what the Bronco (and maybe F-150) have. I would like that option too, works well on snowy roads where you can be constantly changing from 4WD to 2WD and back. Also good for default mode when the wife drives.
  14. 18's vs 17

I have the black appearance package on my Lariat also, with the same 18s. I have a set of sport package 17s for my winter snow tires. I much prefer the look of the 17s over the 18s. Both are the roughly the same diameter tire (265/60r18 vs 265/65r17).
  15. How Should I Park?

Engine higher. That is how I park in my sloped driveway.
  16. Sirius XM annoyance issue

Many of us travel where we don't get FM or cell data.
  17. Are there any hitch receiver lochs that don't seize / fail?

I have had this Master Lock one since March. I only keep it on the truck when I have my trailer hitch mounted, which is maybe 4 weeks total since March. It has been fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009V1WS4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. What should I be considering for service at 25,000 miles?

150k miles per the manual, same as all the other fluids (minus oil, brake and coolant). Coolant is at 100k miles.
  19. What should I be considering for service at 25,000 miles?

Are rear end and transfer case services listed in the maintenance manual for 25k? Edit no they are not, even for off-road/dusty use.
  20. "SYNC has no access to your contacts"

Agree with Dgc333. I do not believe the head unit in the picture supports Android Auto. It has access via bluetooth. You need to go into the bluetooth settings for your truck (on the phone) and enable contact access. See my settings below for an example:
