  1. Buyer's Remorse - Requesting Advice

I would pass solely on the previous owner being a smoker. No way you will get that out of the HVAC internals, headliner fabric, carpeted floors, etc. I'd also not buy a Ford with 100k miles unless it was driven by someone I know well, who had a great service history with it. Even then, probably...
  2. Shocks

I've not read of anyone using Toyota suspension components on a Ford Ranger  There are many threads here on shock upgrades. Most go with the major brands...Eibach, Bilstien, Fox. I have Fox 2.0s all around and am very happy. All three of the before mentioned will greatly improve the...
  3. Unbelievable High Price for Oil Change

Mine in Bend, Oregon at Kendall Ford are about $120. Kinda of annoying because 1) I never get a tire rotation because I run winter wheels and just rotate them and 2) it isn't even fully synthetic oil. I'm close to doing them myself. I do my Subarus myself.
  4. Warranty

My dealer replaced the HVAC box under the extended Ford ESP warranty due to both my driver and passenger blend doors clicking. The doors had not locked up yet. I would try for a warranty claim.
  5. Buying a 2019 Ranger FX4. Looking for advice!

Another comment here on the HVAC blend door. Almost all Rangers built before July 2020 will require this repair. It can still happen to trucks built after that date - mine is an example. It is approximately $2k plus or minus for a dealer to do the repair. We have a few threads here on the...
  6. Truck Leveling for hitch setup.

If you read Ford's instructions on WDHs and towing, they advise to recover 1/2 of the change in height with no trailer and a trailer w/o a WDH setup.
  7. 265/65R18 or 265/70 or 275/65?

I have 265/65R18 with the Fox 2.0 kit on stock wheels. It looks like a little larger tire could still fit, but beyond the 265/65R18 you are taking a risk of possibly needing to modify crash bars.
  8. How long are these shocks supposed to last?

Fox openly publishes their rebuild schedule on their website, and in the documentation included with their shocks. The rebuild schedule is 50k miles with 100% on road and 10k miles with 50% off-road / 50% on road. Most weekend warrior type people who drive off-road every now and then probably...
  9. Weight Distribution Hitch Setup Question

After I hitch up my 5,000 lbs TT, I have to use the tongue jack to lift the rear of the truck, and front of the trailer probably 6" to be able to put my 600 lbs bars on. Then I lower the tongue jack. When the tongue jack is retracted, the truck and trailer are level and back normal as should be...
  10. TPMS failure light while driving...

I believe that's incorrect. You can search for some other threads here on TMPS relearning. It is possible the 2019s were different than newer models though. My 2021 will automatically relearn new positions.
  11. TPMS failure light while driving...

The wasy way to see if it is the TPMS battery or a bad TMPS, or the signal receiver in the Ranger is to swap the suspect wheel with another location on the truck. See if the intermittent TMPS reading blank follows the tire to the new location. If it does, bad TMPS or battery. If it stays with...
  12. HVAC 'clicking' normal or not?

Mine clicked for over 6 months and did not go poof. I have an extended warranty. The HVAC box was replaced for my $100 deductible. If I did not have the warranty, I would have left it alone.
  13. Rear suspension towing upgrades

I tow a 5,000 lbs GVWR travel trailer. Aftermarket shocks on all four corners (Fox 2.0) and Cooper XL rated tires have greatly increased the confidence I have towing over the squish Hankook Dynapros and FX4 suspension. I thought about the Sumo springs but don't really need them with the other...
  14. SSM 49264 - Climate Control Temperature Will Not Adjust With Clicking/Snapping Noise From The Dash

If you have not had the HVAC box replaced yet, I would be very cautious about getting excited.
  15. I test drove a Ranger Raptor yesterday....

This is my hesitation with the Ranger Raptor also. I tow a 5,000 lbs GVWR trailer. The tongue weight is closer to 7,000 lbs, at least before the WDH is connected up.
  16. Had a Maverick XLT Hybrid for the weekend

Honestly, if the Maverick fits your needs, I'd get one. They are good looking little trucks. No need to get a larger truck than needed. The Maverick will fit better in a garage, parking spaces and around town.
  17. Tire Recommendation

I went with the Coopers and have been very happy. See my thread here: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/falken-wildpeak-at4w-vs-cooper-discoverer-road-trail.28761/page-2
  18. HVAC 'clicking' normal or not?

Is the the sound from the engine area, just ahead of the drivers side when you open the door? I think it is the wastegate?
  19. 5G vs 6G Ranger pricing nuts or just me?

The 6G front end does look more like a big Maverick than a small F-150. I only like the Raptor front end. A 2024 with similar features to my 2021 (Lariat FX4 with most everything) is $8k MSRP more than my 2021. Granted you get some new features and updates, but that is about 15-20% higher MSRP...
