I decided this week to put an order in for a 2026 F150, so I'll have to part with my 2019 Ranger in a few months. Still coming to grips with it all. My Ranger is my baby, it's been a great little truck, but "little" is a big reason for why the wife and I made the decision.

Four years ago, we started looking for an SUV for my wife because she wanted something a little bigger than her 2017 Fusion Sport. We tried unsuccessfully to get into a number of different vehicles, but lingering restraints and new model delays meant multiple unbuilt orders across multiple brands. Last spring, we took advantage of employee pricing on a new Lincoln Aviator (the upgraded Explorer). Very luxurious, tons of power out of the 3.0L twin turbo, overall a very nice road trip vehicle (lots of highway trips to see family).

When we got the Aviator, I decided to hang onto the Fusion since trade values sucked and it's a great car with no issues. Recently, my wife has been talking about having too many vehicles between the 2 of us, and since I still refuse to get rid of a high powered sedan that gets great fuel economy, we decided that the Ranger and Aviator need to be replaced with just one vehicle. I just can't live without a truck, so needed to go with something a bit more roomy in the Lariat trim to keep the wife happy.

I will miss my little Ranger after 7 years and 66k miles of trouble free ownership. Until very recently, I had planned on running my Ranger until either it, or I, expired. I will have to make the most of these next few months with my beloved Ranger while Ford schedules and builds my new F150.

Glad to hear you had 7 years of trouble free miles with your Ranger. Sometimes it's time to move on to bigger and better things and hopefully the F150 treats you just as well. Like they say "happy wife, happy life"! lol

Good luck and post some pictures when you get it.

Tempted to do the same , mostly though owing to wanting a better tow vehicle. Might take a gander at an F-150 hybrid, but is the Ford employee pricing a good enough deal, I've been buying or assisting family members in vehicle purchases and go thru a lengthy and time consuming process to get the best deal, no immediate hurry to do it unless the employee pricing is too good to pass on. With employee pricing Ford might pull in demand near term at the expense of longer term sales, so waiting might mean dealers motivated to deal.

We did the same upgrade to a larger, more capable truck to better handle our travel trailer, especially on our longer trips. I really loved the Ranger and at first thought it would suffice for the "long haul".
But things/plans/needs change and ended up with an Expedition. Don't fret about the change, and enjoy your new F-150. :like:

Ford Employee Pricing is the best deal out there, period. It's even better than my Dealer Employee Pricing (I am a Commercial Accounts Manager at a Ford dealer). I've been with Ford for years, including when I lived in Colorado. Plus, you can stack the current rebate on top of the Employee Pricing. So if you are considering making a move, I'd do it soon, before the promotion expires in early July.

I do tow occasionally still, either my Mustang, or my Kubota backhoe that pushes the max tow capacity. For longer trips to Mustang rallies, the bigger vehicle is just better. And it will allow me to rent dump trailers, and tow my boat a bit easier when needed - hard to see around a pontoon with a Ranger.

Everyone is moving up and on! Needs and priorities are in constant flux. Congrats to all of you. I've seen people moving both ways, up to bigger F150's and downsizing to the Maverick. Interesting dynamics at work.

I recently viewed a video comparing 5G to 6G Rangers. The guy said something I had never considered. The Ranger size was limited / optimized to insure it fit in the standard American garage. He actually quoted the inches, which I forgot.

Here's a tidbit for you.....
My 2021 Ranger Scab was listed as 211 inches long....
My newly acquired 2019 Expedition is 210 inches long....
Both fit in my garage (Expedition is of course wider), but the Expy feels sooooo much bigger....3 row seating for full size people and room in back....
Put the 3rd row seat down and rear space is almost as big as the bed on a Ranger Crew.....

This site did some comparative research on employee pricing:

https://caredge.com/guides/ford-employee-pricing-deal-review
good link. There was an F-150 I was eyeballin before employee pricing. Once the promotions rolled out the price went UP by just about the amount quoted in that article.

I really hate how ford manages their deals and incentives. Intentionally obfuscating stuff so that I’m only ever disappointed by their web of incompatible offers after I talked to a salesman.

say what you will about Toyotas and RAMs, their incentive strategies are often more straightforward.

to the OP, enjoy that new one fiddy! I’ve wanted a new full size for some time now. I hope it’s a great one for you!

We just got the same thing. That 2019 is a nice vehicle and gives me the desire to drive a 150 again.

Ditto on the group sentiment - enjoy the new 150! What color did you pick? And do stick around.
I went with Avalanche. I love the look of the Avalanche with the black trim, and figure it's a color I won't be sick of in 8-10 years.

Sometimes you just need something new my 2019 Ranger XLT has been fantastic but I also just let mine go. I traded mine for a 2022 2dr Bronco, I have been a Bronco fan for almost as long as I have loved pickups. But I got such a good deal I could not say no. You all have been great and will miss this site so I may still read it for the fellowship and advice. Because after all a Bronco is really a re-bodied Ranger.
