When we first got here Sunday we stopped at a different Mexican restaurant Adriana's but they were closed on Sundays. She had great reviews and tonight we just went there for a drink and appetizers and it's a small place but has a nice outside covered patio where we sat. We got a couple of strawberry margaritas, chips & salsa and some loaded nachos and all were excellent! Adriana makes it a point to come around and talk to all her customers and is really nice lady. Everything there is home made by her including the tortillas, salsa and margaritas from her family recipe from Mexico. This was the best salsa I've ever had! The people next to use got burritos and they were huge and said they were very good. It's your typical mom & pop place with old time service which is super rare now. If you're ever in the area make it a point to stop here and you wont be sorry.

As much fun as it looks like this is gonna be, I'm afraid I have to sit this one out. Sidelined with a shoulder replacement this week.
I'll live vicariously through your exploits though.

Party on!
Good luck with your operation , hopefully a speedy recovery.

Today we had two events planned the first one was a day at a wildlife zoo called Out Of Africa. It's on 26 acres and starts out with a bus ride (old school bus without windows) through the center of the zoo where there's giraffes, zebras, Watusi cattle and water buffalo. They do have shuttle buses that run every 10 minutes or so but you do end up doing a lot of walking (I did 8,600 steps there) and it's hot and very dusty there. If you go allow for a good 5-6 hours to see everything. We got there at 10:45 and left around 4:15 because we had to be somewhere else for 5:00 and didn't get to see the reptiles up top.

They gave us some leafy plant to feed the giraffes and they'll come right up and stick their heads just about inside the bus. lol This is the first time I've ever been this close to one and they're huge.

The zebras were funny because the driver was feeding them dog biscuits and they kept following the bus all around the park wanting more.

This just shows you how large a giraffe is when it's next to a zebra.

After taking the Safari tour inside the fenced in area you can walk around the outside and see all the other animals.

The rhino was lazy and never once got up all day.

They did a 30 minute tiger show with this beautiful white Bengal tiger.

There was a Hyena which they said was 23 years old and said the average age of them in the wild is around 10-12 years. You could tell because she moved very slow and she said all her legs had arthritis in them.

It was getting close to feeding time and this Bengal tiger was getting ancy pacing back and forth waiting for them to come feed them.

IMG_5605.webp

Then he started making noise at me and I probably looked like a steak to him.

There were 3 lions in the next cage and 2 were together and one separate.

We had a dinner planned at the Blazin' M Ranch. The ranch has been around for 32 years and the new owners bought it about 5 years ago. The grounds are set up like an old western town and they open the doors at 5:00pm and give you about 90 minutes to walk through it and play some games, have a few drinks and there's even a miniature golf section. They serve dinner around 6:30 which was bbq chicken & puled pork, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy, biscuits and desert. After dinner they put on a show which was both entertaining and funny! They (the owners) and a guest dress up as past and present musicians and play a few tunes from them. I'll admit this was way more fun than I thought it would be and well worth going to as they really do a great job and the food was phenomenal!!

IMG_5641.webp

They have a shooting gallery with a 10 shot CO2 pistol. I hate to admit it but I haven't been out shooting in a few years with all the moving around we've done but this wasn't too bad with only 3 flyers.

IMG_5642.webp

They have a nice set up there with a bunch of patio furniture in the center to relax and have a drink and meet others.

IMG_5643.webp

IMG_5644.webp

They had these Peacocks in a large cage by the entrance. This was the largest one I've ever seen and they had some really cool colors to them.

IMG_5648.webp

Every time I'd whistle the large one would scream. lol

There's a large barn they have all set up for dinner and a stage up front. It's all served cafeteria style and you can go back for seconds. They make their own bbq sauces and the main one was a prickly pear sweet sauce which was really good.

IMG_5653.webp

IMG_5654.webp

Of course they did Elvis which was both good and funny.

IMG_5660.webp

This guy (I forgot his name) was really great on the guitar, sax and keyboards. He did a few blues tunes and then La Grange by ZZ Top.

Of course they did Johnny Cash which was really funny the way they did it.

This place reminds me of Rawhide near Phoenix. More fun than you expect and folks seem to enjoy the whole experience.

I see you got in some Group Therapy.

I've never heard of Rawhide and wished I had when living up there. Tombstone is another great place to visit which is about 90 minutes from us. We went there back in 2018 and its a n old western town where they do a reenactment of a cowboy shootout and have old Saloons and stuff there.

Annie didn't do too bad and got 3 in the black but I think she was nervous and rushing because there were a lot of people watching. Mini golf was another story but in her defense she's never held a club before in her life. By the end she was at least making it in in under 6 shots.

Now I need MORE group therapy.

Once you reach Cathedral Rock you're at the base and can still climb higher. Annie wasn't having any part of it and after I did it there's no way she could've made it. Bob @Bob902 & Mark @MXGOLF you guys would really love this and if you're even going to come out here let me know and I'll meet you guys pr anyone else for that matter. It wasn't all that bad, a little challenging coming down but you can just butt slide some area which made it easy.

This takes you all the way up to the top.
