Nothing wrong with having toys! I agree that your vehicle should suit your lifestyle. For me, I like vehicles that are utilitarian. If it doesn’t serve a purpose other than “just for fun” I probably won’t be interested, unless I have some fun money to throw around.
Agreed.Im not into having a show piece sit in the garage. If I had a 392 Jeep JLU it would still be my Daily driver and so on.

Oh, if I had a 392 I'd be driving it everywhere! lol

The only vehicle I had that was a garage queen was my Vette. It really wasn't a practical DD and our roads were pretty back back in MA. I only put about 1,200 miles a year on it but they do hold their value well and I (luckily) sold it for a couple grand more than I paid for it.

Beats my 757 off the line, but the eventual .86 Mach barber pole blows the doors off it.

Here's a good in depth look at the ZR1s.

I can appreciate all the the vette has to offer. I drove some in the 80's, but they were never my style, even if I had the cash. Watching Barrett Jackson auction last night, there were plenty of vettes. I enjoyed looking, but it stops there. Same with all the other European super sports cars. The prices they were getting, car market made a rebound from a few years back.

We go to the Mecum auctions every year and you can see the prices fluctuating every year there too. It'll be interesting to see what they are at this years event. I was reading on another car forum where they said the prices have been dropping some because the demographics that traditionally bought these cars are aging out of the market, they don't have as much appeal to the Millennials and Gen Zs. Not sure how true it is but it kind of makes sense seeing as these were the car from our generation.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Mustang and always will. Growing up on the family farm and seeing the things that my late Grandpa would do with his 2wd F150 with a pair of mud tires on the back. That's why I am Ford trucks all the way. F150 and the Ranger.

I liked the Mustangs too but every one of my friends (and most around town) had them. I wanted to be different so I had a few different older Z28's. One was a '69 which was nothing special but I got it cheap and just kept it stock. The other was a '78 (4spd) which I ended up blowing the motor in and rebuilding it with a LT1 350. My girlfriend's father helped me in their barn over the winter and we tore it down to the block and built it from the crank up. This is a case where I wish we had smart/camera phones because I would've had a ton of pictures. I only have a couple which I still need to got through in a huge box one day.

This is amazing performance from a production car which is mainly ICE 1064 HP gas & 186 HP electric. Running the 1/4 mile in 8.675 seconds at 159.57 mph with a 0-60 MPH in only 1.68 seconds which is about 1.5 G’s acceleration in 1st & 2nd gear on pump gas. Most of us grew up with muscle cars back in the 70’s & 80’s and thought they were gone for ever so it’s nice to see the Vette turning out a 21st century muscle car even though it’s unaffordable for most. At least back in the 70’s & 80’s they were more in line with wages and super easy to get parts and work on. I bought my first car, a ’70 Dodge Challenger with a 383 and a tunnel ram and dual quads for only $800. Granted it had to be towed to my house and I spent over a year working on it but something you could do as a 15 year old in high school with a part time job washing dishes back then.

Jeezus !
