Been wanting Glock 19X forever, but I never got it because I had no practical reason to... With Glock discontinuing (almost) all models & changing design on them, I finally pulled the trigger on one:

But have you actually pulled the trigger on it yet?

I posted up above about my latest project - Project Mossturd. I am blinging out a junk Mossberg in nickel plate and gold.

It was time to remove the finish and polish the receiver. This was harder than I thought...

I managed to sand off the black anodized finish from the shotgun's receiver - it was a little harder (the finish hardness) than I thought it would be, and required a more aggressive grit of sandpaper. From there, I used progressively finer sandpaper, and also WD-40 for wet sanding. I then used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish, before finishing with Flitz.

What I failed to account for in this whole process, is how soft unfinished aluminum is! If you even think about glancing at the receiver, it gets little micro-scratches! 🤣

Next step is to now put away all the polishing stuff in my garage, clean up my little ad hoc work space, and set up for plating!

I would imagine that was an out of battery detonation, which shouldn’t make a difference between factory or handloads……unless the handloads used benchrest primers.

I need to drop a new trigger in my 9" 9mm custom SBR. The ECHO trigger broke and wounded a buddy sitting beside me at the range. I had to pick a piece of brass out of his flank at the range.

Was it a hand load or factory ammo? No other damage to the gun?
Factory Ammo. Winchester 9mm.

The trigger let the hammer go before the round was fully chambered and the exposed brass blew apart. The gun is OK but the $475 Fostech Echo Binary Trigger isn't safe to use. I'm tempted to replace it with a cheaper drop-in trigger and then sell it.

Wow. I’m sorry to hear that. Looks like @DocE3Gun was on the money. I wondered about the hand loaded ammo, because I had overcharged factory ammo blow up my HK USP before(in battery). You hear about unsupported ammo out of battery exploding, but didn’t know triggers can be the culprit!

Pic of my USP from few years ago:
