Both of the adjusters for my headlights are stripped. Based on my research, there is no repair, just replacement. Like a Kleenex, use it once and throw it away.

I Have blacked out everything else on the truck so I may as well go that route and call it an upgrade. I am looking at the AlphaRex LUXX-Series LED Projector Headlights Alpha-Black.

  • Good brands under $1000 that are LED?
  • I assume anything on Amazon is junk?
  • Are the aftermarket LED bright or should I get halogen and swap in LED bulbs?

I just received these from Alpharex
I wasn't to happy about the built-in side reflectors. I wanted to go amber on DRLs etc. These were only ones I saw out there. I'm working on finding halo amber led fog lights. This will match the amber raptor grille lights. I'm going to install later this week.

I believe you can switch them to amber. https://installation.alpharexusa.co...-for-alpharex-2019-22-ford-ranger-headlights/

Yes that's why I bought them.
Sorry, misunderstood what you said previously. Let me know how they work. I like the look of them.

Ok, I have had alpha rex lights since 2019, great headlights, well worth the money, I don't know how many times they saved me from hitting a deer, because I could see them them farther out on the side of the road, on low beam they project more into side of the road than normal lights. On brights it's like daytime, I drive at least an hour on country roads in the dark at least one way, or both ways in the winter.. one of the best investments for the truck...

Nice! I like the way they illuminate. Thank you! That's my big thing too. Deer, Javelina, Coyote and Bobcat roam all over here.

If you want to try to salvage your headlights, try pushing in on the lens while you turn the adjusting screw to try to re-engage the screw with the headlight. It worked for someone else that had this issue.

That was me. The damage was done. Metal screw into plastic is a bad mix. It got it a little closer. I tried to bring it down a little more and it stopped moving. I pulled the top screws out that fasten the light to the truck and egged them out with a Dremel, pulled the top of the light assembly away and tightened them up so at least I am not blinding other drivers. Not a good long term solution. Google brought me to a lot of other sites where people had the same issue. Even Ford mechanics had a problem with it.

Maybe you could epoxy a metal nut to the headlight assembly to accept an adjuster screw. Just a thought.

I will have to look closer tomorrow but I think it is internal. Pretty much concluded the whole assembly is not accessible. That would be a nice fix.

I know you’re looking at the AlphaRex, but I have a set of Morimotos for sale on this forum, located in Washington but they are packed in their original boxes and can ship at buyers expense. Traded in the truck and put the stock ones back on, they ran on my truck for less than a year. I believe I have them listed at $1300 but I’m not firm on the price ultimately. DM me if you’re interested at all.

I haven’t seen the AlphaRex in a Ranger in person, but my buddy has them on his Toyota and they’re sweet. I loved the Morimotos on my Ranger and if it wasn’t for the transmission exploding on me I’d still be happily rocking them.

I went with a set of Lariat LEDs off a wreck on ebay to replace my halogens, I looked at all the aftermarket ones but for the similar price to the nice ones (I think I paid around 1k for a pair) I got ford ones. My thinking was all the wiring is definitely up to the load since its the stock wiring and ford spec'd the LEDS, no extra wires to the fuse box and it works like the stock lights after a few settings in Forscan. If you go this route make sure to check the edges, clips and glue to make sure it's not a re-sealed unit.
And yes their WAYYYYY better than the stock halogens, I couldn't be happier. Definitely my favorite change I've done to the truck, my area has little to no ambient light at night so this upgrade was very needed. They also look quite nice.
