My Tremor looks to be in need on new tires, and was thinking of going a size larger.
I bought a used 285/70R17 off Ebay and mounted it on my spare wheel (steely), drove it a few miles to see if it rubs anywhere. I could not see anywhere the tire was hitting anything...not the crash bars nor the spindle tie rod connections. I bought it used, and can find no evidence of a lift on the front, and have no wheel spacers.
So, now I'm thinking I want the M/Ts for looks and capability. I'm in New Orleans area, and very little opportunities for off roading, so most of my driving will be on road. As you can imagine, I'm worried about noise. By the way, the truck has (what looks like the original) General Grabber A/T X LT265/70R17 on it now, with 74K miles. While they still look good, I can "feel" them when rolling slowly, and in the morning, it takes a few mile before the flat-spotting sensation goes away.
Lastly, I don't really need the LT 10 ply's. since I won't do much off roading, nor trailering, I'm mainly concerned with road noise. I can seem to find definitive info when these are mounted to our trucks.
Any input on these specific tires will be appreciated.
