Hey Guys I'm looking to install a 3.5" lift on my 2022 Ranger FX2 RWD. I'm having a hard time deciding between the BDS 3.5" w/ Fox 2.0 coil overs and the Eibach Pro Truck stage 2 lift. I'm looking for a lift that will give me a little smoother ride on the road (don't have any plans of going off road) and allow me to run 285/70-17 tires. I currently have a 2" level kit with factory 265/65-17 tires. Any recommendations on which lift kit or pro's/con's would be greatly appreciated.

If you're already leveled, you can run a 285/70/17 tire if you address the crash bars. The BDS stuff is totally unnecessary to achieve your desired tire size. So just get the Fox 2.0's or the Eibach. Pro to the Fox, its very supple and comfortable. However it doesn't handle weight in the rear very well such as towing or just hauling. If you're mostly running empty, fox is great. otherwise you probably want to go with the Eibachs or maybe a Bilstein 5100 kit.

Just bear in mind. Fox is the softest, Eibach 2nd, then Bilsteins. I put the Eibachs on my Tremor. They are adjustable on the truck. Could not be happier.

I have the Eibach Pro up front and Eibach shocks in the rear. Love them. I didn't go with the fox kit because you need to rebuild them after about 40k miles or so. Eibachs have no rebuild interval that I'm aware of.

You can fit 285/70r17 without the 3.5" kit from BDS.

When I was a lot more stock than I am now, I ran the Eibach Pro 2.0. It is an excellent kit and rides fantastic. It handles the weight of a stock truck really, really well. Some weight is okay, but if you go nuts on your build, they will not be up to the task.

True. I had the Fox on my Tremor and at 40k they started going soft.

I’ve got a ’23 Tremor and learned a few things about the suspension the hard way. I installed the FordRangerLifts Tremor-specific 2" level — solid product, quality materials, no complaints there. The issue isn’t the kit itself, it’s what happens to the geometry when you start adding lift.

Any spacer/level kit puts more angle and stress on the upper ball joint. With the 2" level and moderate off-road use, I noticed accelerated wear on the ball joints in under 6 months.

Worth noting: the Tremor package actually comes with a slightly upgraded UCA compared to a standard Ranger. The ball joint pocket is pushed out and angled differently to handle the extra droop from the factory lift. Even with that, I’m already pretty close to maxing out the angle range on the UCAs with my 2" level.

So for your setup — especially since you’re talking 3.5" — I’d strongly recommend planning for upgraded UCAs (Baja, ICON, Total Chaos, etc.). They’ll keep your geometry in check and save you headaches down the road.

Also I recommend installing some high clearance crash bars since you're already gonna be in there with the other suspension work. I did the ReadyLIFT High-Clearance Anti-Intrusion Beams.

I changed my UCA's when I put the Eibachs on. Forgot to mention that.
