Presuming this is the truck that Farley said would be Ford's "Next Model T Moment" August 11?

As always - I'll keep an open mind, not try to let old opinions taint new ones. If the cost, range, and capability numbers are there I'll put it on my short list to replace my Ranger. So far, there have been too many compromises in one of those aforementioned categories to make me excited to own one.

Model T Moment, huh !!!!!
Original Model T cost $850, and has production kicked up, went as low as $280.....
Wonder how Ford is going to match that !!!!!

Same here. I really want a Lightning pickup, but can't stomach the price for a pretty work truck. If they want people to buy EV trucks en masse, they can't be $100k mall princess trucks.

@Grumpaw - If we let ourselves assume these things are accurate; according to an online inflation calculator, $850 in 1908 has the spending power of $29,700.57 today.
That would be a fair price. But, as we all know (remember the Lightning) the cost is sure to go up by thousands of $$$ over whatever price they claim to be introducing it at.
And it is between the Ranger and the Mavrick.....so is it a Midi Mini, a Mini Biggie, Mini Midi.....
Instead of a "New" truck, why not just make a variation of the Ranger with all that neat stuff for those who gotta have it.....

Ford will make it 3 doors per side plus a "kids space" in the middle and a 2 ft bed for your haulin' needs ...

Alpha Wolfe looks to be doing it properly, if they ever really do it...

I was at my local Electric COOP (Wake Electric here in NC) checking on a power outage when I saw an employee drive up in a new Blue Ford F150 EV. At the time they were pushing EVs pretty hard.

When I asked the electrical engineer about his experience with the truck, he told me it was a company truck for evaluation, and not good for anything except for use as a commuter vehicle.

That's a pretty expensive commuter vehicle, IMHO.

My boss drives one, has a decked system, hard tonneau cover and elevate ladder racks. Pulls our 21' trailer with big scissor lift like it isn't there. Seems to be doing pretty well, it's a 23 model. Just too expensive for me, I spend all my extra money on motorcycles.

According to their pricing, that's enough for a new Slate EV lol.

The engineer said it would tow, just not for any distance before needing a full charge. I have no idea, only the opinion that he expressed. He also said that they couldn't use it for any type of service as its range when not towing was too limited.

Tows that 9000# rig 120 miles round trip with leftover range. Averages 250-270 miles per charge. He charges Sunday night and Thursday night most weeks.

You can get any color. As long as it's black.
