Took a road trip this weekend and used my MP3 player, like I usually do. MP3 player has 600+ songs from a whole slew of different artists, but for some reason SYNC this time only decided to recognize 48 songs from 3 of the artists. When I unplug the MP3 player from SYNC, it's playing a song from one of the many artists that SYNC decided NOT to recognize, so it's not like it lost my entire library, which was my first thought.

Unplugging the player, rebooting it, or even restarting the truck did not change the issue at all.

Anyone encounter anything like this before? Thoughts on what's causing this and/or how to fix it?

Thanks y'all.

What type of mp3 player and are you on Sync 3.4.23188? If on an earlier version of Sync, I would update to 23188 as it resolved a lot of issues with older versions.

If you are current on Sync and if it worked before and now suddenly doesn’t, assuming you made no changes to the settings/setup on the mp3 player itself, I would try having Sync re-index the mp3 player. Plug in the mp3 player and go into settings for the media player and choose re-index. Then you’ll need to unplug and replug the player and Sync should re-index.

I just use an older version of one of these with all my mp3s on it and it’s plugged in all the time.
