I own a 23 XLT 4X4 and I rented a 19 Tremor for a week in Utah and I noticed it rode nicer (smoother) than my XLT and the transmission was much more precise and didn't hesitate changing gears or hold gears so long. The owner said it was 100% stock. Can anyone explain why this Tremor rode nicer and shifted better? Thanks in advance. Jeff in PA.

Back in 21 I drove a FX4 and Tremor back to back over the same shitty road. The Tremor definitely road better and was better controlled. I purchased the Tremor even though my only off roading is occasionally take it out on the beach.

That's the main reason I bought a 23 Tremor Lariat with 30k miles vs a 24 FX4 with 5k miles, the ride is that much better.

I was going to say, the Tremor package didnt come out until 2021 atleast in North America.

Having had both and doing some fair amount of offroading, the Tremor is night and day for a stock setup.

about it being a 2019 my…
Maybe.
The rental company probably doesn’t care enough to be accurate and labeled the available vehicle as a 2019-2023 ford ranger tremor. Pretty sure that could be the case.. and yeah the tremor definitely has some perks over stock and the best 19-23 ranger you could get (that isn’t Scab?((for the Scab royals out there.)) would imo be the 2023 ranger lariat tremor. Latest yr all the fixings of the lariat and the slighter edge over the fx4 with the tremor pkg… anyway that’s just one a’’holes opinion who just so happens to own a 23’ Tremor (but it’s a XLT) ?

I drove the '21 FX4 and was not impressed with the harsh ride quality. The dealer had just received the "New" '21 Tremor, so I took it for a drive. Night and Day in ride quality, so I pulled the trigger on the Tremor. It does exhibit some occasional shift issues and I'm hoping the 10R80 hangs in there!

Multileaf rear springs, rear Fox shocks, front Fox struts different-bigger tires and a slightly higher ride height are what make the Tremor ride differently than an fx4 or base model US 4x4.

You guys are right - it is a 2023 but it has auto stop start - which was weird. Maybe an early 2023? My does not have it.

Not having AS/S was a option you could delete if it was ordered that way via the as built sheet I think

You are correct Bryan. I built mine online and if I opted for the delete it would have showed up under "Optional Equipment/ Other". Unfortunately, at the time I built it the 501A package was not available due to a backorder of microchips.

I’m pretty sure all Tremors have the AS/S and it was not a choice to remove it. Had something to do with the switch cluster/wiring that the AS/S button resides in.
