Do any of you have an A.R.E. Ascend Roof Basket or similar mounted on your topper with pictures? I have an A.R.E. topper ordered and I’m trying to decide what type of basket to go with. My topper will have the tracks and uprights with crossbars but I prefer the lower profile look of the baskets being mounted directly to the tracks.

Did anyone end up getting the ascend roof basket? I’ve got a quote but they’re saying the 55x47 is the correct size (I have a CX Revo shell). Seems like 55x42 is the better fit.

Well I took the plunge and went with it.

Pros:
+ very sturdy
+ looks good overall
+ not higher than the antenna, so you'll stay under 7' with stock tires/suspension

Cons:
- nearly impossible to wash under it
- not aerodynamic (can hear it on freeways)

I think it's a good buy overall and fits perfect on the ARE shell (I have a CX Revo).

I did not go with that basket and instead went with a FrontRunner Roof Rack on the Topper. It is sturdy, light weight and you can set it up with a bunch of different accessories easily.

That looks sharp, Ryan. What does the floor of the basket look like? Mesh, t-slot tracks, tie-downs?

Thanks Duke, I put a few pics up here. There are tie-downs throughout the basket, I've seen online where people customize it by adding lights but that's more than I need.

The floor is OK in my opinion, could be tricky getting something like firewood in it, but a piece of plywood laid down would do the trick.

ARE was recently bought by RealTruck so the logo on the rack is changing, and I assume the same will be true for the camper shells.
