So now I have to go to law school so I can understand the new terms of use, to use Ford Pass? Unbelievable!

And that's why I deleted it. Don't miss it a bit.

What personal data can Ford get through the Ford app that they don’t already have?

I did read it. It says the truck reports data to them regardless of whether or not you use Ford Pass, unless you go through a process to turn off the trucks modem.

Yeah I’m not a fan of it, but the entire smartphone is a data harvesting device. Nearly all major apps are doing it. Virtually every auto manufacturer is doing it (and GM got in trouble for taking it too far in some way). Toyota charges you monthly for the privilege of them spying on you while hiding the physical key fob remote start feature.

I live in a colder winter climate. I need the remote start feature, especially with this 10R80. It’s sad, but I have to part ways with my data privacy for my vehicles to remote start. It’s a liberty I had to sacrifice. But that’s just me. I fully support others who would prefer to get an aftermarket remote start and ditch any spying apps they don’t want.

It's like overly-intrusive TikTok. Pretty sure there will be ways to subvert the data collection or at least there will be inevitably.
