I tried it a few times with the app. Always took a minute or two (or more) after pressing the button before it would start. I have the FOB, so don't really need the app for it. Can you get a fob after market? Because that's the way to go.

It is gonna be more involved than just getting a fob.

Also, while the fob is what I use when my truck is in the garage or if I'm in the office at work it doesn't always do the trick. There are times when the additional range is needed.

Why wait to start my truck when I'm walking up to it? That's too late. I'm not trying to warm it for 20 seconds.

If I have to run a route at work I can start the truck from the unloading dock. Or if I'm out wiping asses I can start it up ten minutes out from the office.

Also, it works well if I'm out with the family for dinner before work. As we're headed back home I can warm the truck.

Remote start on the fob is nice, but we've had that for decades. But on the app is a game changer for me. The fact that Ford makes it free accross all models is icing on the cake.
