Sounds like a lot of sand. How did your EcoBeast do with that much weight in the bed? I'd be half tempted to make a sandbox to play in. :)

What we found long ago was the pickup box is filled with Styrofoam balls or lead balls up to the box rails. GVW means nothing!
Thus the current vehicle "rake" for weight carrying in the pickup box.

She was sitting pretty low......
Looks "level" to me with that 600 lbs..

Factory stock our Rangers tend to remind me of that hillbillies car from Thunderbolt and Lightfoot

@mrsmith the truck looks like it sits fine to me with that in there. I should have been more specific in asking about any side sway (top heaviness) or handling issues. Seen quite a few threads on how well it tows but little on hauling a sizable weight in the bed. Now that I have a few thousand miles on my truck I am ready to start doing some hauling, towing and truck like things with it.

@HenryMac that is a great, old classic Clint Eastwood flick. I remember watching it on TV long ago. Was thinking about searching ebay for a DVD of that the other week. That is a nice old Fury, even if overly shackled up. Been a fan of old big block mopar's since I was a kid.

@P. A. Schilke I've liked quite a few of your threads plus appreciate your work on the Rangers and sharing it at the forums. If you are saying to me the rake is there for a purpose, to compensate for load. I understand that, have no problems with it and like the looks of it as well. If you are telling me something else then I may be missing the message.

I hauled my atv 3 hours from my hunting camp to my house today. It fit!
Looks like it fits with plenty of extra room too! Could even fit a longer quad back there.

That’s a better fit than I ever expected! Even the extra weight doesn’t make the truck squat much at all.

Had to get the yacht out of the State Park last weekend, only a 5 mile journey to camp.

Same boat in the '98 and I'm looking for a pic of it in the '84
