I agree about the 3:73s. The first ones I found were the Ford performance ones. But only found them in 4:46 and 4:70. With a little more searching I found the Dana page. I've a inquiry into 4 wheel parts on price and availability.

Started watching this, Jeep video but they're talking all about regearing and they actually walk through the work of regearing a Dana 44 which is the rear end on our trucks so I found it pretty informative

The rear of our trucks is a very common unit and changing the gearset is well documented. The front is where we had trouble. There are options now, which is awesome.

I was watching that video too, from the front of this discussion. Holy cow that's an expensive unit, seems a little cheaper the way suggested...

Buy a used FDU of a wrecked Ranger for the swap, install new gear set, locker, etc ahead of time, then swap the FDU out as a whole.

You guys are bad for the wallet ?
