God for you. I like it. Case closed.
It's a love/hate relationship with me. I just hate when they keep messing with the app updates! It was running perfect for years then they messed with it a few months back. Looks like they finally have it working good again so hopefully they leave well enough alone this time.

I don't use it much but when I do I love it especially for the remote start. It comes in handy when you're to far away to use the fob and you want to pre cool/pre warm your truck. Then there are times when I second guess myself if I had locked the doors and I can remote lock them.

That is all good for convenience. but you do realize that you are not unlocking the doors and starting the truck, Ford is. You are simply sending a request. The command flows through Ford servers.

The bottom line is that you are allowing a 3rd party to remotely control the vehicle while you operate it.

If you are OK with that so am I.

But I'm not trusting my life to an uninterested 3rd party who could turn that control over to any government entity at any time, or worse yet, an enterprising hacker could play God with you or others lives.

Just sayin' that I would rather have control and deal with an inconvenience.

We are not ignorant. Again, good for you. Case closed, again.

Yeah I know. Case Closed Again. Have a Nice evening.

BTW, Here is a real life example.

When that hurricane hit Florida a few years ago, Elon Musk remotely lowered the charge capacity of every Tesla 50% without the owners prior consent or knowledge. All those Tesla owners were quite unhappy about not being able to evacuate the area in their Teslas.

Here's your precedent. It has already happened, and at one of the worst possible times.

Wow, really, and no class action to Tesla for interfering with the use and enjoyment of their cars that they own think that they own.

Doing a search all I could find was this. Sounds like a good thing to do if you ask me!

https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-iss...-owners-flee-hurricane-irmas-evacuation-zone/

Tesla has issued a surprise over the air software update to Model S/X 60(D) owners living within Florida’s Hurricane Irma evacuation zone. Model S/X 60(D) vehicles with a 75 kWh battery pack that were previously software limited to 210 miles of driving range per single charge were automatically upgraded to 249 miles, and given temporary access to the full range capacity of the battery.

The update is seen as a gesture of good will by Tesla to help its drivers flee southern Florida as the state prepares for the most powerful Atlantic storm to hit its shores in nearly a decade.

Teslarati reached out to Tesla for confirmation after hearing wide reports of similar stories being reported by owners. A Tesla spokesperson confirms that an over-the-air software update was in fact issued to increase driving range for owners that may be impacted by Hurricane Irma.

That’s what I was familiar with. And they provided free charging at their stations. If there’s something besides this I would like to read about it.
Same here and from a legit site. There's way to many conspiracy sites out there now which I fell for several years ago. That's why I don't read/watch the news anymore as it's way to toxic and you'll spend your life either mad or living in fear.

Here's what I typed into the search and came up with what I posted above...."Did Elon Musk remotely lower the charge capacity of every Tesla 50% without the owners prior consent or knowledge during a Florida hurricane".

I can not find that link, but both my wife and I read and commented to each other about the article. I am still digging through my mail and instant message digest trying to locate it. It may take me some time... but in the meantime here are two different scenarios where Tesla remotely degraded the batteries without owner approval or notification.

It does not matter WHY they did it. The point is THAT they did it. They have the capability to do it and they took advantage of that capability without owner consent or knowledge.

Tesla is again being sued for limiting its cars’ battery capacity through software update

“My 2014 Model S 85 was getting Rated Range of 247 miles until May 13. Now after the next update, it continued to drop to now 217 miles. This is an 11% drop in 5 weeks.”

When car owners purchase their vehicles, they reasonably expect that unforeseen events — like weather, accidents, or flat tires — may impact the performance of their vehicles and lead to costly repairs. But no reasonable consumer would expect that the car manufacturer itself, through an automated system, would deliberately and significantly interfere with the car’s performance through software updates that reduce the operating capacity of the vehicles.

Tesla Remotely Disabled 80 Miles Of Range From Customer’s Car Demanding $4,500, Backtracks When The Web Finds Out

I would advise you read them before they are scrubbed from the internet. Search engine companies have a habit of getting rid of anything that they arbitrarily consider, for whatever reason, incorrect or inconvenient.
