Any TREMOR owners that have removed your sway bar or rigged some disconnects?

Thoughts on how the Fox 2.0s perform without them?

Do you get better gas mileage because there is less weight? Have you removed your spare tire or filled your tires with helium to get better mileage? Thinking about also upgrading my spare to a small donut from a 2005 Toyota Prius with a similar lug pattern.

You're driving a Tremor around and you're going to get rid of the full size spare so you can put a spare from a Prius on it ... for better gas mileage?!

You should be beaten with a rubber hose in an alley. You're driving a truck man! It's for truck things! If you want to priss around getting 40mpg trade it in for another Prius because if you think 30lbs of tire and another 4lbs of sway bar are going to do anything for your mileage you're kidding yourself.

Just enjoy your truck buddy, put the pedal down and ignore the mileage, that's not what these vehicles are about.

A six lug Prius space saver wheel?! That's almost as rare as a 3 lug Renault LeCar wheel for a 40" tire! Dude! You're killin me...?

Can someone help me with my question or are we just here to fart around?
My 2 cents...loosing weight is always beneficial to fuel economy...the amount your talking will be negligible...like 1,000th MPG gain considering the over weight of the truck...adding helium to the tires is pointless...short of adding a blimp to reduce the weight of the truck by 1/4 might do something but then that would look rediculous...in the end, what really aids your MPG is HOW YOU DRIVE...light footed acceleration...timing traffic and lights, etc...

Oh ya...don't induce additional drag with RTT and driving lights, fat tires sticking outside of the fenders, leveling/lifting your truck, adding weight with camping gear...in other words don't do as I do...leave it stock...

Your question was asked in a less than serious manner....You were lucky to get the answers that you did..... So now it is time to " fart around"...?....

It's a troll account, look at the join date and the threads it's started. It's all satire at best. He's trying to get exactly this kind of reaction, apparently even truck groups aren't safe from them.

The meat of the question is, nobody has taken their sway bar off or gotten new end links for a quick detach?

Can someone discuss this. My Prius spare tire question has been answered. Thank you previous people for your thoughtful responses.

You made a post in 2019 on a similar topic. The post went nowhere as usual. Did you get any info in the past three years?

Here is part of your answer.

Quick Disconnect Sway Bar Endlinks | 2019+ Ford Ranger and Raptor Forum (5th Generation) - Ranger5G.com

Ballpark average MPG for our Rangers = 20-21 MPG City/Hiway mix, and owners report about 23-25 for long Hiway drives (average)

Would I like to see higher MPG's yes, but I have a truck, and I came from a sports car with a V-6 and get the same MPG with the Rangers 4-Cyl. So, I am content with that.

The weight difference from Air/Nitrogen vs Helium is only minuscule, plus you would most likely have to continually add helium.

I think that no matter what 6-Lug Spare wheel you find, it's going to closely match weight wise to the stock OEM spare, so no real weight difference to lower MPG to noticeable.

Hmm, Prius spare? Something for me to buy! =D

BUT ... it brings up a good point for fuel economy. That rotational momentum can be greatly reduced but going to a 3-lug wheel - half the lugs and smaller tires equals HUGE jump in MPG.

Time to do some mods for fuel efficiency!

Those disconnects aren’t being offered anymore, I don’t think there are any available for our trucks.

I don't recall which post I made...what I've come to understand is 5G Ranger varies wildly depending on trim...2wd wins MPG every time with high 20s...4wd/FX4/Tremors probably lower 20s if left stock...there's no way around this due to larger AT tires, added driveline weight and friction...leveling is the MPG killer...raising the front of the truck allows more underbody aero drag...

My case is text book on how to kill MPG:

1-2.5" front level
2-1" rear lift
3-wider flares
4-285 tires with spacers
5-quad ditch lights
6-rear rack RTT
7-shovel + awning
8-above accessories and other gear weight = GVW over 5K lbs

The best MPG I can achieve while driving like a hyper miler is 17-18.5mpg...I think if I were to ditch my RTT, shovel, awning, Diamondback, camping gears, I might be get past 20mpg...

As for sway bar removal, the only reason for doing that is not to loose much weight but for articulation...I know many Taco drivers who run without them and have no issues...I've thought about doing the same...

Dang!
That was a disappointingly serious and thoughtful answer.
Well done!
