Can anyone help me out with this issue that I am having with my 2022 Ford Ranger raptor 2.0 bi turbo. While driving on straight roads, the truck runs well. However, driving up a hill it is very sluggish and hesitant. Please help me figure this out. I have taking it to a dealer, and we have not found the issue. No check engine light, we deleted the cat, plugged the EGR but still no success.

Most of us here have the US 2.3 turbo but a little more details would be helpful...what kind of hill? Are you carrying heavy load? What speed and gear?

I don't know how it is there, but have you tried different drive modes such as sport or tow/haul?
These will change the shift points to higher RPM's and would help going uphill.

In the Caribbean, there many high hills. Don't know how to describe the hills. And also, with zero load. Very sluggish, at full throttle, the truck just does not move much. But mostly when the car is really hot. Meaning when I have been driving for 30 minutes.

hit the button for Towing, even though you are not it will keep the RPMs higher, or better yet a lot of us normally drive in (S) Sport mode ....
If I had to drive in (D) all the time I would buy a different truck! these Trannies Suck LOL

A couple things I read once was mention of the transmission pump gears having issues that can bog during increased load and (doubt this one but…) possibly turbo failing starting to weaken… have you tried doing a couple of heavy throttle pulls see if there’s maybe a loss of power.. kinda sounds like your 2.0 turbo is becoming “all motor”… because a overheating safeguard shutting down the boost to protect the vehicle idk.. maybe stuck open watergate/bov/recircvalve..when hot? Hope it gets sorted out. I’m Interested in knowing what’s going on aswell, kind of a strange issue

Not sure if when you deleted your CAT you also deleted the O2 sensor.

Had a 2.3L 87 Mustang that had a problem maintaining speed when going up any kind of hill. I took it to the dealership and a few other places to have it looked at as well. They couldn't find anything either. Got a cheap tester to check for codes. I pulled over right after it lost speed and stuttered and plugged the tester into the OBD2 port and it gave me a code indicating that the O2 sensor was faulty. Replaced it and had no more problems until some idiot fell asleep at the wheel and totaled it while it was parked. ?

This may not be the problem with your truck, but may be something you can try.

Good luck ?

I am not familiar with the Biturbo engine, but I would start with looking at the fuel trims (via Live Data) drive or place in gear and hold foot on the brake and give it some gas.
Load up the engine.
I suspect a fuel delivery issue, clogged filter or fuel pump

It's a diesel, does it even have a Cat? Will an off the shelf OBD read codes on a vehicle in Haiti?

The truck the has 2000 miles on it. I really doubt it is the turbo, but thank you very for your information. Will look into the wastegate.
