Two pics from our recent trip to Iceland, these are from a town on the northern coast, only a few miles from the arctic circle. These are from only two weeks ago so they are in SUMMER. The pier is an old relic from the town's heyday as a herring port, before they fished out the herring. Apparently the herring numbers did eventually recover but they never came back to this location, so it all fell into disuse, like a gold town once the gold runs out. They fish for cod and sole these days - and have quotas now. The second photo of the ships chandlery is actually about a block behind me and to the left. Yes it was cold - remember I come from the subtropics, locals were running around in shorts and T shirts - as it was summer!

Yup we don’t mind them much they usually stay near the fire wood pile away from the house, suppose this one felt like exploring. We do have a few small dogs (which are pretty smart and stay clear.). One of the Huskies decided he wanted to play with the snake (probably eat it smh). Anyway stopped the pup and the snake is in the wall of the garage now ?.

Here is an Icelandic Jeep, I saw a lot of nicely tricked out Jeeps and Rangers in Iceland, they are bit of a necessity once you venture off the main roads, and also the locals do enjoy camping and 4x4ing.
And below - a Royal Ranger - well it WAS parked in the Windsor Castle grounds.

Was at Chassell MI township trails today to help them clear weeds n shoots. Had 4 units going there. New roll of .155 showed up today. We use these up in 2 or 3 years.

Tried out the new Cateye this morning. LIke it so far but the Odo is registering too high so need to recalibrate it.

Like my ranger was, my frontier is also the hot spot in town for cute ass little jumping spiders to call home.

It drank some condensation from my can, did a weird dance for 20 seconds and scurried off to some crevice on my truck.

My trucks house at least 5 of these things a year it seems..

Only good thing about spiders is that they eat bugs and they are bird snacks. I tolerate small spiders. Larger aggressive type and Black Widows found in our garage are immediately evicted... permanently.

yeah if they can murk me they die.

Plus jumping spiders have so much personality for tiny little creatures. Hard not to enjoy em.

Not a fan of any spider, after being bitten by a Brown Recluse. Had to have an egg cup amount of puss removed after a doctor cut me open to access the poison.
