It was easy to toss her in when she was a puppy, now at 6 months she is almost 80lbs ?
Like Chris said, your frugal. Me, I'm plain cheap, but now that I'm retired have decided it's time to spend what we've saved.

Hey that's my line. lol ?

One thing that's very hard is going from a lifetime of saving to now spending. It's a hard transition and even harder when you're Polish. ?

It's more of a temporary thing, I have been reading bunch of different studies that you should go easy on a German Shepherd puppy (or any big dog) until the bone end plates have fully developed, somewhere in the 10+ month range, depending upon what study you believe.

So I have been trying to limit how hard her joints are loaded, I figure another 3-4 months and I will stop with the crate.

Because, carrying around the back half of my last 85lb Shepherd in her final months when her rear legs had given out, really made me want to do everything possible for the puppy.

Because with German Shepherds, it's not if they get Dysplasia, it's when and how bad, at least for 99% of them, out of the seven Shepherds I have had, one went 16 years with almost zero hip problems. the last two got taken out by it at 11 and 13yrs.

My 7 year old GSD still jumps into the back seat of my 4 door Lariat, but I need a set of steps for the future. If anyone has bought a Pet Loader set of stairs and could post some pictures of it deployed next to the truck seat it would be appreciated. There are a LOT of Pet Loader models and I'd rather buy one that's already been tested by a member here.
