Recently installed a 6” Lift from BDS.

I’ve noticed that the drivers side coilover is bent/compressed outward. What could be the cause of this? Is this just how it is?

Looking for any sort of insight. Is this safe to drive for now?

its safe to drive most likely. but may not be best for suspension parts wearing for the long run, alignment, and ride quality. Maybe the install of the lift is what did the kink in the spring. something may be just enough out of place or overtight etc to make the difference.

Not sure why it would be kinked like that, but if you paid someone to do it, at least they could get the lower spring perch installed correctly. I could be wrong, but I've never seen one that sits on the shock sideways like that.

Could also be from the added stress of The 6" top hat spacer....

Well if one side didn’t do it the other side is installed incorrectly like you said. ??
Yes, but the cause of it is what you want to fix, right?

If it was a bad install, great, but what about the install was 'bad'. How are they going to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'd also try and get a better look at the lower spring perch/mount. Take the wheel off of both sides and look at it, is something broken or cross threaded? Is there a pin that's sheared?

Personally I wouldn't drive it until I knew more about what the damage really is. One hard pothole could shear something the whole way through and you're going to slam down and possibly damage more. Or it could just be bent and you can get it to a shop without any major issues, as long as you don't drive it like a racecar.

BDS 6in Spacer Lift.
The bds website does not show a spring on the front.

Did you look at the kit before it was installed or do you have a packing list from the order?
