Hi, I commute highways~ 80%, offroad~15% and tow xcountry~5% of my driving. Would these be a good option? (2020 FX4 SCREW 265/67/17, TT is 4500 lbs, 550 tongue weight)

The coming release of the new AT4W probably explains why Walmart and Amazon are selling the current AT3 for $199 in size 255/70/18. I might just wait and get them at that price. @Discount Tire Will you be discounting the current model soon?

Hard to say. We've been asking Falken for more involvement on the sale/rebate front, but things have been pretty quiet. My gut tells me there will be some sort of special/rebate, but I haven't heard anything as of yet. Stay tuned! Don't forget..Discount Tire does maintain a Low Price Promise, if you find a lower price, bring it to our attention, we will match it!

What happens to all tires that come back?
Tires with ride issues and the like, go back to the manufacturer. Hard to say what happens to them after inspected by them.

it seems like the r/t tires are becoming more popular now. in general are they more off road tire or on road? for example a few companies make tires that look "aggressive" for off road use but they are really more of a street tire made to look like an all terrain etc. So how does the r/t segment fit onto the mix of other types like all terrain, mud, highway, off road only, and so on?

Goodyear's marketing is hyper focused on durability improvements with its 3ply sidewall construction and DuPont™ Kevlar tread protection to help resist punctures, abrasions and cuts in rough, off-road conditions.

On top of its of off-road features, Goodyear also figured out how to make the Wrangler DuraTrac quiet, by angling its center tread blocks both to increase lateral stability and road-holding ability on tight turns while reducing tire noise at highway speeds

Goodyear currently has the 265/65R 17 DuraTrac R/T in stock ready to ship.

Really debating between this and the new Wildpeak AT4w. Always heard good things about the Duratrac in snow, and this one has even more siping it looks like.
Yeah, I'm considering the new Goodyear now too. It's a few pounds lighter than the Wildpeak at the same load index, probably thanks to the kevlar. But also a bit more expensive. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has tried these.

The one consistent complaint I heard about the old duratracs was the weak sidewalls, so now that that's fixed I'm thinking they may be a pretty great tire. Also the AT4ws reduced some of the siping and went to a harder compound, both things that help towing/etc at the cost of grip (especially in snow/ice). Not really what I need from a tire.

OK, I guess I'm the guinea pig on this forum for the new DuraTracs. They look great, in my opinion. Louder than the stock Hankooks, but not obnoxiously loud. Here they are in 265/70/18. Same width as stock, and mounted on my stock wheels, about 2 inches greater in diameter. (I also upgraded my suspension).

I will be installing a set of five Duratrac RT tires this week in size 255/75R17, but unfortunately I will not be purchasing from Discount Tire because they refuse to install the size I want (even though it fits just fine).

Can confirm the Duratrac is excellent in snow. It is one of the worst wearing tires I've ever had, but I think this is just a characteristic of hybrid tires. My dad is having a similar experience with Ridge Grapplers on his F150. Both are getting some cupping after ~20k-30k miles. Gotta be religious about alignments and rotations.

My buddy just got the RT put on his Tacoma and they are a really good looking tire.

thats annoying! maybe it is a california thing. They have put on oversized tires for me a few times with no complaints. call a different discount and tell them its a tremor model and the stock size is 265 70 17. they fit all 5 g rangers with 17 inch wheels. even totally stock and 2wd.
