Got hit in a parking lot by a landscaping van who took off. Police caught them (undocumented and unlicensed...) would have loved to just handle this out of insurance since it's so small but here we are.

Any guesses what this stupid thing costs to fix? Also going to ask for depreciation since this is now a recorded accident smh.

Posted a bad photo. But the bumpers got a deep cut in it behind the license plate from the box truck backing I to it

The bumper is an isolated piece, you can look up the cost on a parts website. A shop would only have to paint the bumper, no blending in with other panels would be needed. Should be a straight forward and quick repair.

If that happened to me the time would be ripe to just go ahead and get an aftermarket bumper that has a winch mount. Sorry about your damage though.

I just live with mine bent. Gonna get a new license plate bracket and call it a day. So.....it will cost, 50 hundred bucks? I figure the license plate bracket at about 40 bucks. Something similar happened to me. I rear ended a pickup that cut me off to make a turn. No signal nothing. Mexican license plate, mexican teenager no license, no insurance ? f@#$! Oh well.

Oh haha couldn't care about the plate. Meant the cut into the bumper which is also insignificant but now that a police report exists I'm gonna get fixed

Depending on your deductible, and i am assuming you will have to use uninsured motorist. So anywhere from 500 to 1000 bucks. To take off the plastic piece, have it repaired and painted. Then prove diminished value, thats why i left it.
Soo, thats what i am figuring the process would be. And a semi educated guess on the repair

Hmmm. Not a really good picture. What I would do. Is remove the License plate and bracket. If the bracket is not broken remount them. I'd only replace them if broken. If the bumper was severely damaged, I'd replace. And I think if the Driver and company are uninsured, I'd look into small claims court.

I'm afraid we're in for a lot more of crap like this with open borders.
The best part of the story is once the police got them both guys denied they were driving. The magical box truck just drove them both there I guess.

Police gave the guy a careless driving and a driving without a license.

Then their insurance told me the owner of the company is denying an accident took place to top it all off. Thankfully the police report exists but I would have loved this insignificant "accident" to not be tagged to the car.

I had a lady try to park a one ton van next to me in a hospital parking lot. She clipped my front end hard enough to dent the front bumper just a bit. Now believe it or not, she went to security & reported it and they announced it over the PA system and I got her contact & insurance information. Her insurance covered it as well as a rental. I thanked her profusely for being honest, you don't see that very often. This was around 5K worth of damage.

The vehicle belonged to a landscaping company? I would be thinking about a lush green yard and multiple mowings
