Oh that was a trippy movie. My generation had it good as kids, Goonies, Neverending Story, Flight of the Navigator. When AI takes over they can wipe out everything made after 1995 and it would be no big loss.

1996, Trainspotting was 1996 and the last good movie ever made

Tommy: Doesn't it make you proud to be Scottish?

Renton: It's SHITE being Scottish! We're the lowest of the low. The scum of the fucking Earth! The most wretched, miserable, servile, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some hate the English. I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can't even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We're ruled by effete arseholes. It's a SHITE state of affairs to be in

What kind of idiot would think that's a good thing?

Someone, somewhere, possible an accountant had to issue a directive that this was the best method and someone, perhaps maliciously, complied. I would rather believe that than to think they completely missed something like this.

Surely, they wouldn't use the exact same software for all Ranger transmissions. US has to have different software than other countries.

I'm intentionally ignoring FORDs' past ****ery.

It might be related to the "Auto-slam on the brakes if you open the door" programming. Yes it is a thing, try it sometime. Threw my Uncle into the steering wheel when he saw the door wasn't clicked closed and went to open and shut it.

The decisions today seem to all be about cost. "Just make it quick and we will fix, worry about it later. The customer becomes the test pilot.

Ha Ha anyone ever watch the 80's movie "Working Class Man" it might have been released in the US under a different name. Starring Michael Keaton and with an excellent sound track by Aussie Jimmy Barnes.
Story is about an ailing US car company which was dying a slow uncompetitive death in the early 1980's. Was taken over by the fictitious Japanese "Assan Motors"
Japanese QA inspector is walking along the production line one day taking note of all the quality issues, getting more and more upset by what he sees, the further he goes, finally launching into an Oriental rage over one issue, and screams at the line worker "What! What is that!"
US line worker calmly replies , That? That's just something for the dealer to worry about.
Priceless.

Hopefully not since ours are mated to diesels I would imagine they would need a different shift and lockup map. But I thought you should at least be aware of it. In one report it was said it was an issue of the E-shifter module. Could be likely.
Our transmissions are nothing like yours, we have issues of slamming gear changes, missed shifts, front pump failures, clutch issues, Oh wait...

Doesn't happen on US Rangers. At least under 15mph or so. I've opened my door to close the back door on the scab several times without issue. Ymmv.

NFW...you're pulling my leg...is this in BOLD warning anywhere? I'd think someone's gonna get sued for this feature...

FYI team, this is only for the 6G RoW Rangers built with the 2L BiTurbo diesel and the 10 speed auto with the E-shifter. Nothing to do with ours.

Well it was on his base model F150, brand new. Maybe the 2023+ Rangers will get it. It is on multiple other manufacturers, been around for years going by names like Parksense, AutoPark, Slamchest, Christine-Mode, etc.
