3 of my friends have Tacoma's. Went on a fishing trip and I went with my buddy in his 18 Tacoma pulling a kayak trailer with 3 fishing kayaks. The engine screaming and transmission shifing non stop was driving me nuts!

There have been 365,230 Rangers sold since 2019....this forum probably represents less than 5% of all owners....I'd bet transmission failures on Rangers is less than 2%. Just my guess. I beleive that sometimes we think things are worse because forums is where people come to complain and vent. Just my 2 cents!
agreed the 3rd gen is not a fav of mine unless you can get the manual in it then it fixes all the issues lmao

i dont doubt it at all! i do hope my transmission last and doesnt end up like the few in here that have failed but its already showing odd shift patterns and behaviors that my old 13 tacoma didnt ever show even after 130k miles and hard abusive miles on it now to be fare its not a third gen with its annoying transmission/tune lol

I haven't put any soundproofing into my Ranger, but I have noted its one of the quietest interior vehicles I have owned outside of the F150.
Unless I open the windows I don't hear much outside unless its really loud in comparison. Like sirens, aftermarket exhausts, grossly proportionate knobby offroad tires howling etc...
Maybe I need hearing aids?
