Nice job with the prep! I just completed a 1400 mile round trip pulling my boat. I went a little excessive in prep to most people. Brought 2 spares for the trailer, 2 bottle jacks, cordless impact, wheel chokes, plus a ton of other stuff and went over everything on the truck and trailer. Had zero issues on the trip. Failing to plan is planning to fail. No one has ever been to prepared when it hits the fan lol.
Funny prep story: I went for a bicycle ride with my daughter, grand daughter and son in-law, just for a short 3-4 mi after supper ride. My SIL carries a well stocked tail bag with half a bike shop's with of tools, tubes, patches tire spoons, first aid etc as they haul their bikes to trails all over Minnesota (they've done much of the MRT, for all you midwest sprocket jockeys). Anyway, about a half mile from their house, his chain snapped, throwing off two links, and no way to repair it.

It’s always the one thing you need that you don’t have lol.

Where about in Ohio ?
I grew up in Akron, moved to West Virginia in 91 for work.
Date a girl back across the river in Athens.

What’s the process for lubing the spare tire mechanism ? Something most never think about
St. Marys, about an hour north of Dayton. I have an ex-sister-in-law and nephew in Sistersville, WV.
As for lubing the spare tire mechanism, all I did was spray the crap out of it with chain and cable lube I use for my bikes.

What? No chain tool? I have one. That and a couple of extra links should do it.

Well I'm back. Approx 1400 +/- more miles on the Ranger. Not one lick of trouble. But as someone stated, it's just getting broken in. It handles the hills in WV like nothing, the tune really helps. The only thing was that the stock tires, with 36k plus, felt a little squirley when fresh rain hit dry roads doing 70+ in WV. Other than it was a flawless trip, aside from a couple of idits that got me yelled at, like I should have seen it coming or some shit. I'll try to get a vid up of a tractor-trailer tire blow out I witnessed.

On road trips I've seen these happen all the time. It's more often than I would have thought. Twice ended up running over the blown tire too. Traffic backs up and I'm hoping everyone has the sense to not swerve to avoid it into another vehicle.

Nothing special to see on a trip to Ohio. And the vid of the truck tire blow out didn't pan out.

Actually, here are a couple of decent pics. I grew up near a huge lake. And a kid rockin' out to an '80's rock cover band at the bicentennial.

I’ve never been to Ohio. Might be beautiful to me. :) Maybe next time.
Southwestern Ohio, where the rolling hills begin turning to mountains into WV. That's kinda nice.
