That's true Langley, but depending on where you live or leave the car, the visor still being on the car when you return is chancey.
As this has been an "issue" for decades, I must wonder why none of the car makers have made any solutions for this. Sure, there are after market solutions available but nothing is being offered by the manufacturers.

Simplest solution could be a thin-film PV panel in the upper part of the window (or roof, hood, what ever) which feeds electricity to the cabin fan.

Best option to date I have seen was in the Chevrolet Volt. You just left the car on, locked the doors and went to do your stuff. That 12kWh battery combined with a gas tank was good enough to run the full cooling/heating loop for weeks.

Prius has a solar roof option that can run AC while the car sits in a parking lot.

I sometimes wonder what people in revolutionary times would make of some of our common slang. How would folks react to the Towne Crier shouting, "Now hear ye all! Beware of Smartphone Zombies!"
Unknown.jpeg

Having nothing better to do the morning, I decided to analyze as much of the humor out of this as I can:
"Smart-" was a word in use in the late 18th century, but "phone" was not in use until the late 19th century, tele-phone, Saxhorn (later "saxophone")
"Zombie" has a West African origin ('zumbi' associated with fetish[?]) believed to come into English use in the early 19th century. So it is conceivable that a town crier may have used that word, as they were still in use in the early 1800s.

Well they would be locked up as "the most serious domestic national security threat in the U.S." They would probably go down fighting though, unlike modern citizens.

So did I get that right...

"Now hear ye all! Beware of Smarthorn Zumbis!"

Seems that someone had too much time and too many drinks up here.

I like it!
