I've been watching a bunch of RV YouTube videos again and this one just came across my page. For some reason I guess I never thought much about this (fires at RV parks) and it really shows how fast things can get ugly. Especially when most parks pack them in like sardines.

Thanks God no one was injured as it was early morning July 4th and most were still asleep. The guy in the video grabbed a hose and was watering down the camper behind the one on fire and saved it. You can see the 5th wheel to the left starting to smolder around the 4:00 mark.

That would be terrifying
Heck I was just watching it! o_O

Most have two propane bottles on board now too. There were a few pops but I don't think that was them (batteries maybe?) because I would guess they'd explode and do a lot more damage.

May have been the Jiffy Pop :frown:. Everyone has some in their camper. A friend of mines mother had that happen to their motor home going down the road. They all got out but the entire motor home was gone in 15 minutes after they got out. Didn't have time to get any personal items out. They sure go up quick once started.

The 'ex' spends the winters in RV parks around the country. Leaves around Dec 26 an comes back in mid Apr. She said a ton of people including her have E bikes to get around the parks. I warned her of the reports of fires breaking out from charging them.

I wonder how common those fires are? Mobile homes seem to go up in in flames fast too.

They really are just tinder boxes. Lot of thin wood that's basically kindling. I figure if one of those tanks cooked off it would be a big boom. Makes back country and primitive camping more appealing!
I wouldn't want to have been anywhere near that. Just the fumes alone are super toxic with all the glue, plastic and Azdel they use.

once that cheap fiberglass is flaming its done for. very toxic fumes. looked like the camper on the left was melting some and possibly on fire as well. ive seen some boats catch fire that were just pulled out away other boats and let burn. could not help but noticed a hot baby mama in the video too lol.
