You picked the best dealership in the area! I have met Lou before and he was very helpful. Have bought three vehicles from the dealership over the years. Their service department is excellent as well.
Glad to hear that about their service department. I moved here about 9 months ago and I am still searching for those "contacts" that I had where I came from. Thanks for that bit of information.

I normally lurk and react to other's posts with a comment now and then but felt I would step out of character and post for a change.

With the order banks opening for the 2024 Ranger Raptor I finally saw my opportunity to order what I always thought was my dream truck. Unlike some have stated on here I actually liked the look of the 2024's and especially the Raptor. But as many are finding out, getting my name in first or getting it on one of the Raptors already ordered by a dealership was pretty near impossible.

One dealer that I talked to locally even went so far as to tell me that they would not pre-sell the one they had ordered and that when it arrived they were going to add a $15.000 ADM plus going off what was said to me. they are planning to add their Rousch treatment to it also so that the asking price was going to be near $100.000 for a $57,000 truck. I just shook my head as I turned my back on the salesman and walked out the door.

A couple of days later ads for local dealers popped up on my computer. One of them caught my eye as it was the color that I would have ordered on a Raptor. On closer inspection I found a 2023 Lariat with the Tremor package listed as in-transit to a dealership about 25 miles from where I live. This got me thinking about just how much I really needed or even wanted all of the features that the Raptor would have. Such as, when I don't do a whole lot of offroad, how many different driving modes would I ever use. Also my chances of ever getting a chance to use baja mode in sand dunes are pretty slim. I came to the conclusion that my inner "Tim Taylor" had come to the surface briefly.

After thinking about Sid and others talking about their trans problems, with 80,000 miles on my 2019 XLT, I only have about 20,000 left until "ka-boom". So the next day I made the drive. Lou Gehrig met me at the door. No shit, that is the salesman's name. He had me drive a Tremor that they had on the lot to get a comparison to my FX4 and then we got down to business on the in-transit truck. The trade-in value that they gave me was maybe a little lower than I would have liked but there is NO ADM and I will still be getting a new truck for less than half the sticker price. Yes, there are still some decent dealers out there.

So, bottom line is that with a $300 deposit, come the first week of July I will be the owner of a new 2023 Ranger Lariat Tremor! Sorry for the novel but just thought I would share for a change.
Congrats...I see you prefer to be at the 5G forum where it's always happy hour...

Still happy with my Tremor. The ride is excellent and it’s more than capable enough for me off road. Enjoy your new Tremor!

I think you're going to be happy with your decision. I love my tremor and it has completely grown on me. I do believe the only thing I would trade it for is a raptor, but I'm not willing to pay extra. I think before long
, we will be able to negotiate pre-pandemic sales and discounts, like the f150 raptor I was going to buy for 12k off sticker.

Congratulations! You’re going to love it. I’m so amazed at the capability of the Tremor off road. Just got back from Drummond Island and all the Jeepites were complimenting on how well it did. Pics coming soon.

I can understand your Tim Taylor comment as I was convinced I needed the features in the FX4. I drove one and tried to buy it but the dealer started playing typical games by adding dollars to the deal that couldn't be explained. I walked out.
Then I found the color I wanted on a 1 year old 2021 lariat at another dealer. Bought it and had it home for 3 days before I even noticed the FX4 was actually 4x4 on the bed sides. Lol. That got me doi g more research and an easy co clusion that the 4x4 had every I'd ever need. Don't miss any of the added features of the fx4.
I do wish the ranger had memory seats like my Toyotas had, as wife sometimes drives it too.

When I saw 405 hp I think I unconsciously did the "tool man grunt". But when we can get well over 300 hp with this 2.3L and a tune, well.....

It's pretty sad that dealerships have become so good at pulling this bullshit that people just open their wallets and accept it. Glad you found your new truck though!
Yes. I'm happy I found a place that is not, for lack of a better term, ultra greedy like the one who plans to ask $100,000 for a Ranger Raptor. I get that they are in business to make money but c'mon man. I think I'm paying a fair price with no ADM's or sneaky stuff going on. Really sad that some idiot out there will pay that $100,000.

Exactly. Makes me glad I bought Strider off the lot for $35 grand. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but I didn't have to wait for it either. Also, I don't have a seizure if it gets scratched (and it has).
