Exactly. I have it in writing , with an email printout from one of their warranty heads, saying they're outsourcing specialized jobs related to water leaks, air leaks, and body panel alignment. The dealer mentioned the shop will call them to verify an active repair order and bill Ford.

wow that is awesome! well I think it is safe to say you will get better quality results out of the private shop than the dealer. hope they get it fixed up fast.

Did you buy this vehicle new? My first thought when I saw pics was flood damage. Assuming that is not the case, is a/c condensate dripping under truck?

Purchased new -- no flood damage that i know of. Perhaps AC, but i thought that would be located somewhere else

If a/c is not dripping under truck on a warm day, that would be prime suspect of interior leak.

True...agreed. But it hasn't been cold this winter, and the mold wasn't there last year when i pulled up the trim to check something

When I worked at the dealership we had a recall on some vehicle's windshields (I think it was the small courier van maybe? I don't know, that was many bourbons ago). The recall called for an inspection, and then we had to schedule an outside vendor to perform the recall work. It was a PITA. LOL

Update: i'm curious about you all's thoughts.
The third party testing company, the body shop, said they could not find a leak despite 200 gallons of pressure wash spray. Specifically, the windshield and seams seem okay.

But they saw that the wires I run through the driver's side gasket (under the floormat) was not sealed with silicone.
I've always done it this way on my other vehicles and never had a problem.
They say that they think all of this water/mold was from water shooting up through that gasket.

I didn't drive in the rain, so I'm finding it very hard to believe that that much water could get up inside of that somehow -- from under the vehicle, and up through the hole -- it could TOTALLY soak the interior (which is still soaking wet, a month after the rain)

Am I mistaken? Could they be right and this is my fault?

Then I would say to them - "show me water coming in with your fancy pressure washer then."
