Great video, Chris! That's alot of button-pushing to get that locker on and then choose the mode you want. For me way too complicated!
I agree with that!! Another example of Ford saying "that is way too easy, let's do this instead!"

Exactly! I figure one shows up at the trail at 8am ready to go off road.......spend the next 6 hours pushin' buttons.........finally get to go off road for a few hours before making the trek home! Eeeeesh!

They must've hired some German engineers.

Automotive Engineers: We can make this component out of 3 individual parts. It will be easy to change and will be 95% effective.

German Automotive Engineers: We can make this component out of 147 individual parts. It will be 95.072% effective.

Mechanic: But will it be easy to change?

German Automotive Engineers: It will be more effective than the ones that are easy to change.

Exhibit A: The timing chain setup for the Audi S4. It's on the back of the engine at the firewall. And it's problematic.

Would be sweet to have that engine as an option, and a manual transmission. Sold, but dream on.

You do realize that the Raptor is simply a wide body version right? Yes there are a few differences then that but the main thing is the wide body. Between the two it's probably best not to have the wide body.

Other models have the twin turbo motor option? Or was that never a thing?

I hear ya. I wouldn’t buy a Raptor as it’s overkill for what I need. I just like the way the front end looks vs the standard 6G Ranger. My Tremor gives me the suspension and capabilities I need without the $60 k price tag anyway. The regular 6 G looks too muck like a crossover to me if that makes sense. I guess that’s to be expected since the truck was designed to appeal to world markets not the US truck market.

I do not see how it resembles a crossover. Perhaps you are thinking that because of the sport bar in the rear? That is totally optional.

I’m aware about the fake crash/roll bars being an option. Not trying to offend anyone but I have owned 5 Rangers over 30 years, new, old , and everything in between and just think they really missed the boat on the styling of the new truck. To each his own and how they spend their money.
