“”It’ll be fully software updatable so…we can ship software to the car over the air. Your truck’s going to get better every time you get in it.”

As long as it takes to update Sync from a thumb drive... I can only imagine how long it will take to update a full software update wirelessly... but that's fine, it can charge while you wait...

Proudly Pro-ICE!

Farley says the Ford "super" truck will be available in just 30 months so it may beat the Cybertruck to market. I don't get this fixation on having to make EV trucks, skeptical on how many ICE truck owners are going to accept truck EVs give some of the current limitations.

If Farley wants to make an impactful statement I think something about a battery tech/range break through would get people's attention, not some nonsense about sleeping behind the wheel while the sun is shining.
They can't build diesels that don't catch on fire so I don't have a lot of hope for electrics.
Someone tested an F-150 Lightning and found that towing a trailer the range was about 100 miles.
I can drive my Ranger about 350 miles, spend ten minutes or less fueling it up, and then drive another 350 miles. An EV you get maybe 200, less if you're running the heat or A/C or if it's cold outside, and spend 6 hours or more charging it back up.
For EV's to be generally accepted you need 1) better range and 2) faster charging. Not saying those problems can't be overcome but they're something that needs to be improved on.
Story is out on the interwebs that a dude in someplace cold had a Hummer EV, battery was almost dead, he plugged it in and it told him 6 days to a full charge.
I'm sure in 1914 there weren't a couple gas stations in every town so you could fill up your Model T but there were places to feed and water your horse.
I'm against the government making ICE vehicles artificially more expensive and EV's artificially cheaper.

Ford has already built a better electric truck than Tesla.
Starlink and SpaceX work well but nobody has received a Tesla truck yet have they?

Is the Cybertruck even a thing still, or did it die a quiet little death?
Don't write Musk's truck off till you see it in the crusher. Same stuff was said about the Semi being Vaporware, and look at today they're being towed around since they run out of juice faster than a toddler looking for a sugar high.

I wasn't writing it off, I just haven't heard or seen much of anything about it since the concept was unveiled to great fanfare, so I was asking out of curiosity more than anything else.

I don't see a point in any of this if everything they sell is going to be $80k or more. No one can afford that.

Essentially, Ford (and many other car makers) are telling the public right now that unless you make $200k a year, you will be forced to drive a 12 year old Kia... and you'll like it.

Elite cars... for the elites. Everyone else must starve to death.

Sorry, you poor, stupid bastards.

It will reach production, issue is that the production model will most likely be heavily watered down due to the real dimwit laws and regulations regarding trucks.

The ruling elite will have real meat, heat, a/c, and armored Suburbans. The rest of us will eat bugs and live like the survivors in Walking Dead.
