Oh yes, flipping the bird is worse than pulling a gun, just look at the incredibly violent nature of the court case mentioned in your link:

According to court documents, Michael Naccache was outside of his home when Neall Epstein passed by. Naccache accused Epstein of startling him and making vulgar gestures, like a raised middle finger and a throat-slitting motion.​

You Canadians are supposed to be uber nice. You can always adopt the Southern euphemism "bless your (his/her also) heart". It sounds nice but has a few meanings that are not so nice.

You Canadians are supposed to be uber nice. You can always adopt the Southern euphemism "bless your (his/her also) heart". It sounds nice but has a few meanings that are not so nice.

We are uber nice. We politely finger someone and say “sorry eh”. ?. Actually if you add “eh” to anything it sounds less rude.
But then again this is Montreal - they have a lot to be angry about - like the Habs haven’t been real contenders for the Stanley Cup for a long time (but neither has Toronto so it balances it out! - yeah taking a jab at you Leaf fans), lost the Expos years back to Washington and probably still paying off Expo 67.
(But seriously if I had to pick another city to live in Canada it would be Montreal cause - well I am a Habs fan and was a Expos fan).
