I don't blame you, but I don't really understand what is happening with the Bronco right now. I haven't followed the stories closely, but when I was at the dealer this past weekend to get an oil change, the dealer had 4 or 5 new Broncos on the lot including one Badlands edition.

Is Ford building dealer inventory ahead of fulfilling orders, or do you think that these were orders that got cancelled?

Mark, They could be a combo of both but I'd bet they were cancelled customer orders. These higher interest rates are putting many out or reach with payments now on both vehicles and houses. I think the 2dr is still a little harder to get as Ford wanted everyone to switch to a 4dr soft top to increase their chances of getting it built this year.

Ford dealer down the street has 17 Broncos in stock and not moving. they are all parked out front in their empty lot...
I wondering if they're selling them at msrp or markups? If they're all marked up I hope they rot there! If not send me their number. ?

I'll let you guess... I think it's better make money from all the warranty work going on than to sell cars? or are they scared to sell the cars because that means more warranty work...

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
think they're way to invested now in EV's right now. They need to have two separate divisions so each can have their own team managing them. I know all the manufacturers are dealing with constraints but it seems like Ford has handled it the worst. All the warranty claims don't look good either and 2B isn't chump change.
Killing my "Ford guy" self to say it, but I have to agree with every word.

Speaking of the new Colorado, found a pretty detailed review of the Trail Boss version.

Reviewer personally owns a Tremor.

TLDW: He prefers his Tremor over the Colorado

Damn Skippy! TREMOR!!!

It sure is Phil and they'd better right the ship pretty quick! Trust my I love my Ranger and all my pats Fords but with all these issues now and all these bad launches it's definitely making me look elsewhere. At least keep my eyes open more to what's out there especially with all the new redesigns coming this year.

They have three divisions now, Dave: Ford Blue, the ICE vehicle operations; Ford E, all things electric; and Ford Pro, the fleet/commercial operations. I think that there may be a perfect storm coming for the Black & Blue Oval. Warranty costs, tragically comical launches, and going off on bizzare tangents like entering into F1 racing?? All this points to revenue drying up to fund Ford E, and Ford Pro/Blue is having an equally hard time building Super Duties and Medium/Heavies. That means that engineering and development of future non-ICE commercial M/H vehicle ops are affected.
Is it too late? I'm not a Jim Farley fan but I have reservations that anyone can put the company back on course in time: they may be too close to the shoals to avert running aground.

Good to know Chris but are they all run and managed by one person? That was kind of what I was trying to point out that it seems like Farley is trying to do many things himself while it would be best having one person oversee each division. If there is (one person per division) I guess they have more problems on their hands.

The dealer down the road from me shows 2 in stock. I see they just started offering upto 6k off 23 F150s. Just looked at the sticker for one and there are many credits for deletes. Who would buy a platinum F150 without the heatedsteering wheel and many other options.

It comes down to leadership. Ford for decades has had the flattest organization tree. Layer upon layer of supervision stiffling decision making ("Ooohhh, out of my wheelhouse, better past up/down/over..."). Also leads to complexity.

Ford seems to hire personnel or enter into partnerships that are very narrowly focused or trendy, then when they think that the direction they are going is untenable, they wholesale layoff thousands and/or dissolve business arrangements, then hire more people/enter new partnerships that are narrowly focused on whatever the new direction (whim) is. I would think an engineer or draftsperson that can design a crankshaft would be able to design an electric motor shaft.

Remember Ford Spin? Me neither, had to look it up. Or the Lyft/Argo rideshare thing? And now the F1-Red Bull black hole. Some people would like to see Alan Mullally return. I don't know what more he could do now. He brought nothing new to the market; already had the then new 12G F150 in production and the auto side was building off the Volvo and Mazda programs he inherited. What he was able to do was get rid of some of the redundancy and low volume market-specific vehicle programs (and plants); Mercury Division in this country, and create a corporate team spirit that has evaporated since.

Supplier programs are hard to change, especially in these shortage-du jour times. An OEM will negotiate a bid for x-number parts to be built over a y-timeframe, at a z-cost. The supplier secures their raw materials streams and builds their tooling and machinery for the y-timeframe.
Now if the parts are of a defective design or material, decisions have to be made whether to keep using the onerous part; e.g. Ranger HVACs, (cheaper to keep replacing than design/build it better), or halt a model or component altogether; (Focus dual clutch transmission), or try some kind of band-aid solution (Bronco MIC roofs).

That was a good video and I do agree with him the Trail Boss in interior is cheap. When I was building one I was surprised they didn't have any options to upgrade to leather. Plus there's limited tech packages but I guess they wanted to keep it simple as it's based off the work truck. Still it's a nice truck if you're looking for something for both on/off road with a good off road package built in.

The only one I would consider would be the ZR2. It checks all the boxes for me and still comes in almost $10K then the Raptors projected price. Of course it's not an apples - apples comparison but it's the closest they have until they come out with the ZR2 Bison.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I cancelled my Bronco Res last year, mostly for the same reasons, and I was a day 3 so not looking good at all. I bought the 21 XLT as a @Ford test (1st Ford) and so far I like it, and no issues at all (except for one minor electrical bug that my dealer fixed) The Bronco would have been a toy and the longer I waited the more I realized how impractical it was. Any Bronco owners out there want the Swag Ford sent me?
