AVSI know there are pics splattered throughout the forum with examples.... if you do a search on key words, you might find them. Thought it would be helpful to have some examples in one place for anyone debating about whether they like the looks of one and which one for their Ranger.
I was pretty sure I wasn't going to put one on my Ranger... that was until a huge FedEX truck (not the kind that deliver to your house) suddenly pulled out across the highway in front of me from a parking lot when I was on my way to work and when he did, he swerved into the berm and kicked back rocks.... one hitting and dinging and scratching the front of my hood. Believe me, I saw the rock fly and I'm surprised it didn't hit my windshield.
I have a call in to PDR to ask if something can be done on an aluminum hood, but probably going to just have to put a hood protector on to hide it. Ticks me off. I'm pretty sure my comprehensive would cover the cost of a repair, but I'm sure it's going to be that they have to paint the whole hood and can't just blend in the paint where they repaired the ding.
So can we see your hood protectors or bug deflectors and please list the brand/model!
Thanks, nice video. After reading some reviews on the difficulty of installing that style of deflector, you have pretty much sold me on the this type of mounting. You made it look easy and I just really trust this method a lot more than double sided tape.I also did the AVS II, and as is my habit I made a video on how to install it - might be useful to anyone considering this specific deflector. Nearly 3 years of ownership, 0 rock chips on the front of my hood.
It's super easy to do. I think it took me longer to cut up the huge box it came in than it did to instal it.Thanks, nice video. Interesting look! Does it have integrated lights up front? I don't believe I've ever seen that exact deflector model... what is it?Had this one colour coded with a bit of sparkle flake applied to make it look “ interesting “. It’s a better looking bug/bonnet guard than the previous one. I’m pleased with it and it certainly changes the front look of the Truck!
