I would likely never sell my Ranger to them because they don’t have black appearance as an option among their package selections. They want that package as a freebie!

Well I can tell you they initially offered me $38.2k for mine, then they emailed me yesterday and upped the offer to $40.2k. I checked because I forgot to cancel a Maverick order, and it went into production. I was running numbers and going through the motions of which car I really want. If I went to Carvana I'd be about $800 in the positive from what I paid out the door. Washington DC area.

Doc, it's based on several things like area, mileage and year. When others were showing their quotes they were all over the place so you really have to go to their site and put your info in to see. I remember Dennis @Dr. Zaius had a really great offer and when I did mine it was several thousand less. Most likely the area he's in was in more demand. Or maybe the damper degraded it. :frown:

So what about one of our sponsors Carmingo? Curious how they stack up against the competition
They don't purchase the vehicle from you, they only connect you with buyers. So they're basically the middle man and do all the leg work (for a fee) so you don't have to bother doing it. The others will make you a cash offer and you're done, then they sell your vehicle.

From the Carmigo page:

We make it easy to sell your car. You can list it in 15 minutes and sell it in as little as a day.

And you can do it all from your phone.

All you do is take a few photos of your Ranger (or your other cars) and answer a few questions. Our web app does a virtual scan of your car using the camera on your phone. Our team uses that to create an inspection report, and we share it with our network of buyers all over the country (dealerships, fleet managers, etc.).

Then they have a day to make offers.

Try it Out

If you get an offer that meets or beats your minimum price, it’s sold. We do the paperwork, loan payoff, title transfer — all that. And we even pick it up.

The fee they take has to be less than the others that are buying outright from you. So I would think in the end you make out better once the dust settles.

IDK it depends on what their fees are. The others buy your vehicle outright where Carmigo just set you up with someone and does the paperwork for you. With all the others they list it for sale on their site so they're sealing with private parties and dealers etc.

When I sold mine it was a couple phone calls a Doc U Sign and about 5 minutes of papers to sign when they came to pick it up all within 1 week. It was so easy (to easy) that I thought I got scammed. lol

Carvana quoted me $33k for my 21 xlt with 18k miles. I'm not taking a 6k beating for 13 months of ownership. I was considering a explorer timberline, but I guess I'll see how many miles this little blue truck will go.

Similar kind of story here. Their initial offer would have had me taking a $1.2k loss on a truck I bought only a month ago. Their new offer was tempting, but I think I’ve decided to keep the Ranger. Ultimately it’ll be of more use and I don’t really need the MPGs of a Mav hybrid with my agency going about 80% WFH (plus I have an old Escape Hybrid that we just put a refurbished HV battery in).

NOT a Ranger, but info. for comparison.

I just ran my wife's car through Vroom, Carmax, and Driveway as we'll be selling it when the blue Ranger arrives (soon!).

Car info:
2012 Ford Fusion Sport - 2WD
81,230 miles
Black
Sunroof
Leather
Tires at about 85%+
Car's in really good condition

Offers
Vroom = $5494
Driveway = asking to come see the car
Carmax = $7000

Again, not a Ranger. Just comparison info. for the group here.

With Driveway they paid me the day they picked up my Jeep. They had already talked with the bank and had a positive equity check for me when they arrived on Saturday. By Tuesday the check had cleared and by Thursday the loan was paid off, everything went super smooth.

IIRC Carvana wants to take your vehicle and send you a check later. Umm no way! I know they're legit but nothing leaves my possession without money in hand.
