Long story short I need to park my truck so the front bumper touches a wall in my garage.

On a really cold day the plastic OEM bracket cracked so I want a metal one.

I was looking at the following one STO N SHO Front License Plate Bracket for 2019-2020 Ford Ranger https://a.co/d/h4Sti2d

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could use as a low profile front license plate bracket made out of metal?

Wow, that’s a tight fit! I assume you are damaging your wall?

With regard to brackets, there‘s probably not a 1/8” difference in any of them. Can you screw the plate to the bumper without a bracket?

I probably could but I don't like that aesthetically. No real damage to the wall as I just creep the truck up until it touches.

I made these out of aluminum and have a bunch of stuff I want to hard coat anodize so waiting until I have a full load before sending them off. I made a 1/8 thick stainless steel back plate for the tag to attach to so it doesn’t flutter at highway speeds. You can buy those but had the materials why not use them, Attach these in the same mount points as before

My factory plastic plate holder was wearing off the paint on my bumper in the top mount clips. Looks lousy and just another point for the salt in the roads to attack the base material.

My front plate has been off for over almost a year following an accident.

After repair I planned on getting it back on but never got around to it. I've passed plenty of cops, even been pulled over once or twice. Cops don't seem to care one little bit around here. I think tag violations are extremely low priority around here.

Being an old white guy I'm just gonna continue to take my chances.

Around my neck of the woods it’s pretty much the same. Police don’t hassle you about it. State inspections yearly though will get you a reject sticker for not having both. That reminds me, got to get an inspection this month! ?

Yeah I forgot about you folks back east that have annual inspections to deal with.

I'm surprised they don't exempt newer vehicles for that. We have emission checks here but new vehicles are exempt for 5 years.

Not Taxachusetts! I had to get on on my Ranger with 2 miles on the odometer when I picked it up. Courtesy with the dealer to slap one on. Then yearly after that at 35 bucks a pop! This one coming they do an emissions check. The truck is only 2 years old. Just a money grab!

When I was down east in October, I snapped my front plate bracket clean off with the hose at the hand wand car wash. It was late in the day before I was heading back to Toronto, so I McGyver‘d two “splints” to support the two tabs that mount to the bumper. Earlier today, I was looking at solutions on Amazon and found three that could work.

Auxmart $52 CAD - Metal

Willpower $25 CAD - Metal

OEM Relacement $87 CAD - Plastic

The first two are designed to be light bar holders that you mount to the licence plate bracket with the upper tab facing outward (light bar bolts to the tab), then mount the plate. Yeah, like that won’t vibrate like mad!

Anyway, I think they might fit as a plate bracket if you flip it so the upper tab sticks i right the bumper where it can be mounted using the existing holes.

The first one is made for NA plates, the second is for EU but could be cut to fit.

I’m likely buying the top two and returning one or both depending on fit and return policy - there is another EU one that is $30 but might be same day delivery.

EDIT: The Auxmart is shipped out of USA (duty, brokerage, ugh!) and takes two weeks to get here - Willpower is next day and returnable - ORDERED, I’ll let you know how it works out.

Not fancy, but I have the euro license plate frame on the front of my truck attached with heavy duty zip ties. They're secure, you can't see them and if they did break, they're super easy to replace.

Nice work. Will be curious to see which one you go with. I don't wanna have to drill new holes.or.anything so if I can use existing that would be great.

Zip tie route lasted about 3 yrs on my YJ. Although it was garaged so no real UV degeneration problems.

Hey Tanner,

The Willpower frame arrived today. If you don’t have ACC, you can make this work. Do you have ACC?
