The suspension is now where I want it. New upper control arms (SPC) and another 2.5 inches of lift bring the front to the same level as the rear. She feels tall. Measurements (approximate):
  • Body to ground is 22 inches
  • Frame to ground is 17 inches
  • Lowest skid plate to ground is 14 inches

Gloves are a nice touch! ? We used them for emergency windshield wipers once. Cop stopped us in the rain and was shaking his head.
ha! I'll have to remember that tip.

Fairly certain I'll want to put 35's on here at some point. That would require different wheels, though. That's an upgrade I'll file under "some day".

Ok am I missing something? Is your Ranger a 2WD? Why didn't you get a 4WD if you do search and rescue? Your Ranger looks great and I too have the same color but a Lariat 4WD!!!
Thanks,

Don't I know it. There was a time when 33's seemed big on this thing. *sigh*

Thanks,
Yes it's 2WD. Why? It's all they had and I needed a truck sooner rather than later.

It's "Sirch and Rascue" from the Gambler 500, not affiliated with any actual search and rescue.

It's quite capable. I have a locking diff with Jeep JL gears (gen5 rangers use the same Dana 40 m220 as the Jeeps so it was straightforward to get an eaton locker in there + re-gear to 4.10 ratio). Keep in mind if we're talking stock drive trains 4wd = 2wd and 2wd = 1wd because of the way diffs work. So, I have about the same grip as a stock 4WD. DISCLAIMER: holy crap yeah I know it's not quite the same. I'm speaking in high level terms. Of course I want(ed) 4wd, but it wasn't in the cards. This thing gets me to some rather gnarly places anyway, so I'm happy for now.

thanks for the props on her good looks, I'll be sure to pass it along lol
